parents' ignorance
by thomas mathew on Sep 23, 2014 10:55 AM  | Hide replies

rightly said, the kids belonging to the upper strata of society where most of the parents ( here doctors) run after money, glam and glitz and they do not know what is happening with their own kids which is seen here. They say that their kids were not even religious. they won't know who their kids are friends with, what time they leave home and what time they are in ( they themselves don't know about their own selves ), what they read . such parents normally create such kids to get into such dastardly managed organizations like IS.It is high time that parenting needs to be given the true importance and glitz, glamour and the rush for money, a back seat

Well analyazed! Hope this story will be eye opening for other parents. Usually, young-stars of this age are driven by idealism, adventures and quest for purity. This is the time, when their parents should spend their maximum time and effort to keep their most precised wealth (I mean their kids)preserved and on track. I feel sorry for those poor parents and their kids.

What can Prime Minister and the Home Minister do when the mind is trained/distorted from the very birth. Let them meet in "jannat" or "bahisht".
All the best.

It could be simple idealism that motivated these two young educated persons, though possibly cleverly exploited by operators of ISIS. In a large population like India the thing to notice is that their number is so small. There is little scope for individual idealism in India.

A person has a need to work for something higher than narrow self interest. In India there are limited opportunities for this. When some one actually shows such idealism it creates sensation and is treated as abnormal. The only wrong is choice of Cause, but working for a Cause is a sign of health in a young person.

There is nothing much to investigate. Communication gap between parents and young of well to do families is not strange.
