Dunce, neither the INS Kolkata nor the INS Kamorta is anywhere near actual readiness for warfare!
Read about it and then blabber!
Both the ships (and every other ship in their classes in construction in India) depend on foreign supplies for very critical components (Sonars, Missiles, Main Engines, etc.).
Both the ships have been in construction for more than 8 years and both have been undergoing extensive sea trials for the last 3 to 4 years.
And both the ships have failed repeatedly in those sea trials and are yet to sort out several problems detected in those trials.
The same applies (though to a lesser extent) with the other ship that Komaaaali Modi jumped out to inaugurate - INS Vikramaditya!
All these ships will take at least one year more (presuming the Navy and the shipbuilders work at optimum speed and they get all the critical components from the foreign suppliers) to be battle ready!
All it takes for stupxid middle class Indians to croon that Komaaali Modi has done another star turn for the country is for him to come and bray out that he is dedicating half complete ships to the nation !!
AS NAVY WAS GROWING OLDER WITH OLDER SHIPS PRIM MINSTER SPEECH FROM RED FORT YESTERDAY ADDED JUSTIFICATION THAT HE WILL DO MORE TO SAFE GUARD OUR COUNTRY FROM ANY EXTERNAL THREAT , NAVY REQUIRED URGENT MODERNIZATION THIS S GREAT SHOW OF STRENGTH TO WORLD SPECIALLY CHINA WE SHOULD PREPARE TO FACE CHINA IN COMING YEARS I THINK WE HAVE GIVEN OUR COUNTRY IN RIGHT PERSON HANDS WHO HAS CAPABILITY TO ANSWER OUR ENEMIES BOTH EXTERNAL AND INTERNAL I THANK PRIME MINSTER FRO HIS WONDER FULL SPEECH WHICH COMMON MAN OF INDIA UNDERSTOOD HOPE HE WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO IN COMING YEAR I AM HAPPY TO DARING PRIME MINSTER WHEN HE REMOVED BULLET PROOF PODIUM AND SPOKE TO INDIAN PUBLIC I APPRECIATE HIS DARINGNESS TO LOOKING INTO HIS THREAT PRECIPITATION I WISH HIM A LONG LIFE
We can only get better at it if we manufacture in India and keep improving at it by learning from any flaws. If we buy from foreign companies, there is always a risk of over dependence on them for parts and technical know how etc. Also if we build in India, it will give the much needed bost to the economy by employement generation.
