banking in 2014
by ILAPAKURTI SATYANARAYANA on Aug 16, 2014 11:30 PM

fact is that purchasing power in the hands of common man restricts to basic needs of daily life i.e.food for only a day - question of saving seems to be remote - unless workspots are created for common man to earn money the savings of common man gets momentum if the daily wages gets regulated daily - if all pending projects are initiated then millions of daily wage earners will have an opertunity to save money and open bank accounts then the above picture of percentages will be on higher side - so to emprove the money regulatory machanism of banking structure lies more on completion of pending projects and then initiating new projects when pending projects are completed - a beginning has to be done now - opinions differ

banking facility

Even one of the most advanced cities of. India, Bangalore has fewer banking facilities as compared to other smaller cities. ATMs are very few except on malls and hyper main roads like mg, brigade etc. Entire stretch of commml st has only one ATM! of one unknown pvt bank.In hal area, fm hal to marathalli bridge no ATM can be found! Interior roads and streets have no ATMs! Only making malls and high rise apartments are the name of development in Bangalore!

why gujratis are not opening bank account? Being a dominant trading and business community I was expecting gujrat to be ahead in banking facilities, but it is not.. not surprising though! :-)

Guraratis want to open their own businesses and manufacturing entities. They do not open too many bank accounts since bank fixed deposits offer low returns on investments.

Banking fascilities for all Indians.

It is a poor status for us to say biggest population with lowest banking facilities available. I would like to stste an example of my state where you can find as many as 16-20 banks operating in Shirdi and only 4-5 banks having their 10 branches in entire Akola Taluka of Ahmednagar District it is really pity for that taluka for being neglected. Why when bank opens a branch it has to be profit making and the branches in undeveloped areas dont get any big profit making proposals, as such SBI had closed its 1000 branches a few years back. When SBI the giant in banking sceanero is closing its loss making branches what will small banks do.No social banking only they should yield profits allow banks to open branches in rural area purely on social aspect and see what financial inclusion does we will cover every household with basic banking dont expect profit from them but look to these branches as doing GODS work to cover the poorest public under banking. Modiji the PM has said a person should get banking service at max. 5 kms distance is really good thought. i have completed 31 years service in a nationalised bank but our psychology is made to churn profit only leave social aspect apart.

If I were the Prime Minister of India, I'd roll-out Separate Police/Courts/Currency for BC/SC/ST/FC communities.

Bank Funds need an even spread
by Balwinder Kang on Jul 09, 2014 05:10 PM  | Hide replies

While the idea of extending banking facilities to more people is laudable, the government should take pro-active steps to ensure that the benefit of the public funds [deposits] largely goes to the particular area. A study of RBI data [Mar 2013] displays immense disparity in Credit-Deposit Ratio [All-India 78.1%] with relatively under-developed regions like North-Eastern [33.1], Eastern [49]and Central [47.1] having very utilization of bank-credit facilities as compared to Western [84.4] and Southern [96.4] Regions who take lion’s share. Traditionally, AP [123%] and TN [109.9%] have been largest beneficiaries of bank-credit. A conscious effort needs to be made for equitable spread of county’s monetary resource.
