What Indians want - I will go to US & work. Then I will put my dependents also into work from day 1 when I land in US. So it means I make a cake & have it too. When we Indians land in US-UK, we think its our right to engage in every thing what we use to do in India. Indians have to accept that we have to compromise on certain things if want to achieve something good. This article is a farce!

This article is a big dump from a Bulls backside

Author seemed to have a very pre-meditated narrow mind which prevented her from looking at a bigger picture of the Visa System.

Her focus is only on Indian H4 women who have come to USA in the last 5 years or so and whose spouses are still in the Green Card Queue.

Only India and China EB3 category has a very bad backlog, EB2 India and China are moving fast, EB2 ROW is current and EB3 ROW is a year or so backward.

Indian Families in USA are totally different from what we see them as in India. In USA spouses get along very well, finish work before 6 in the evening, take kids to parks, play tennis, swim or just go running.

There is no immediate danger of oppression or depression problems on H4's that need to be addressed with a Book.

Nonsense!
by Ashwin Kumar on Jul 04, 2014 11:05 AM

This premise that H-4 visa is discriminatory to qualified spouses is absolute nonsense!

This only shows how ungrateful Indians are! H-4 visa is a gift to help married H1-B visa holders be with their spouses and not resort to excessive self-pleasuring and eventually to divorce due to absentee spouses!

A qualified wife can get her own H-1 Visa if she wants to work so badly!

Why does a "proud" woman want to piggyback on her spouse's visa to be eligible to work?!

Doesn't this attitude defeat her "pride" and "self" respect?!

Wrong article

An H1b can file for green card on Day 1 on his arrival in the US if the company agrees, there is no 6 year wait rule.

The author needs to do better research.

The duration an H1B needs to wait to file a green card is Nil. If the employer agrees it can be done on Day 1. The second to last para of this article is false and misleading.

The author needs to get educated in the immigration laws

It never occurred to the Author or the "highly qualified" dependent visa holders that they can apply and convert to H1-B visa and work in USA.

Untrue and exaggerated. qualified dependents can convet H4 visa to H1-B and work in the USA. Why blame the visa. No research done while writing this article.
