10 accidents in 7 months. sinking navy

This shows a very poor picture by any standard regarding safety of men, material and money. It is surprising that why sufficient remedial action was not taken immediately after the first accident. Are the masters in governance waiting for successive accidents to take place. The reasons for these accidents are a combination of many. e.g. poor and cheap equipment, delay in procurement leading to missing the bus since new versions come up due to time delay, corruption at all levels of authority, self-interest above national interest, insufficient training and inefficiency of men managing the show. It is high time that a high level probe has to be ordered to go deep into the problems from all angles so that the report submitted by them will be a guide for similar equipments and their handling. Procurement process and operation of defence equipment must be reviewed to avoid such incidents in future.

The defence forces are poorly equipped to undertake any conflict because of faulty procurement process of the Govt. It takes years to select a equipent which is urgently required. Then starts the political game and kick backs. If at all the equipment is procured at all, it is outdated at induction only by a couple of generations. Our leaders have no time for this issue and delays as they are too busy fighting with each other, and in the bargain defence of the country is comprpmise. Defence forces become the scape goats. Shameful.

Congis had a enough time of 10yrs to modernize the navy which was proposed in 1999...the last 10 yrs is the worst time for defense forces in Indian history

ADANI JET AND MODI
by asif eqbal on Feb 28, 2014 12:42 AM

And Great Reformist Hope Narendra Modi is so disapproving of oligarchs that he travels across the country denouncing the Congress in a private airplane with a giant sign saying “Adani” on the side. (Adani Enterprises, the Gujarat government has admitted, has received 55 square kilometres of prime industrial land from the state and paid the princely sum of Rs 60 crore for it, at rates between Rs 1 and Rs 30 a square metre.)
