Primaries from one perspective is a good idea but from another isn't.
Who should win and who should lose is decided by the voter and not the party worker.
If you are leaving it to the party worker on who should stand for election from the party ticket and who should not, then it is the party worker who in fact is saying, if it is X I will canvas and if it is Y I won't.
But the party worker sufficiently knowledgeable about winning and losing? I dont know.
So I guy who wins the ticket is the guy who has more number of party workers votes and not necessarily the voters votes.
If a rich influential guys who has the voters votes but not party workers votes will lose in the primaries and in the end the party ticket winner also lose as he doesnt have the voters votes. But this system works in the US. It should be seen how it works in India.
Every body is asking the congress party to name the PM candidate . they failed to know that the leader of the house is elected by the elected members of the party in the parliament. If congress commands majority then they can elect anybody as the PM.

Please be reminded that most of the time the elected members authorise Sonia or Rahul to name cheif minister or Prime minister.Sonia or Rahul dont want to take resposibility because people will know how capable they are

yes u r correct. the gandhi family need the pupet PM to hold the entire with them. The fool india party congress still they hiding the Rahuls play in 10 year MMS rule. Last 10 years ruled in India Sonia and Rahul not by MMS he is like Doll.
It is demoralizing for people to sit and watch the total lack of conviction in Rahul Gandhi's speeches. It is obvious that he has only some tutored words to offer and when he refers to his 'Harvard education' in a hurry, something seems totally amiss.

Deora is right..every thing is possible, why not Pranab Mukherjee?? Possible in Indian Context till Arvind formed AAP
Dont worry Deora. It makes no difference who the congress party's PM candidate will be..You and the congress party will be left licking the garbage bin once the results come out. But please spare the bigger bins for rahul and his mom..low-rung leaders like you and some spokespersons can keep the smaller garbage bins....
