resided in Hyderabad during 2009-2011 period when Telangana agitation was it's peak.Often office where forced to shut down ,trains canceled ,fight btw police and agitators.I feel BJP shld just support and settle this matter once for all.
Other wise it's big headache for them even if they form govt at the center.
As far as seats for them r concerned TRS won't merge into congress and can be easily attracted by Biscuits

So u suggest everyone to stop the trains and flights to get their demands cleared even though they are selfish and unjustifiable? Is this a strategy for illegal activities too?

LACK SUBSTANCE

It is felt that articles written by your correspondents lack SUBSTANCE. Most of the time they tend to affirm their personal opinions rather than the realities. Do not enthuse interest. Hope I am wrong

Very true.
They have biased correspondents.
Take for e.g. the assertion by author that "Many people in Seemandhra ... do not oppose". From where did he get this ?
Did he talk to people of Seemandra ? How many ?
This is that talk of TRS not of a seasoned reporter.

If BJP votes against Telangana Bill it is good for whole nation. It ca not be called as betrayal. Our country is not at all to rich to give political plump employments for those who were characterless student union leaders who spoiled culture in telangana while doing so never they could get any respectful emplyment thus as last resort these scoundrels have been fighting for Telanagana separation. People fight is not at all a true fact in this region but it is only propaganda biased agitation controlled by few scoundrels.

Telangana State - issue
by Ramanarao Kallepally on Feb 08, 2014 11:02 AM

In the cabinet meeting held in PMs residence, the cabinet committee approved the Telangana issue with minimum changes. Now, the fate of Telangana will be decided in the Parliament of LS and RS during the next week session. As far as the comments given by Mr. Siddiqui the chances are very remote to support the Telangana bill by the Lotus symbol. Let us wait and see what will happen within a couple of days.

It seems the author expects the BJP to protest anything and everything that the congress does. We should be happy that things are changing for the better. The author should be more worried about the divide in the Congress party.

woos of bifurcation
by satyananda rao on Feb 08, 2014 08:33 AM

It is obvious that Mody is being prevented from becoming PM if anti mody gang in BJP is allowed to support bifurcation of AP.
The safe secunderabad seat will be lost permanently for BJP as seema andhras constitute nearly 40% of the electorate over 20% are mulsims here..
Seema andhrite population is over 20% in interior districts also. As they will join hands with Muslims(20% population) , what will be the fate of BJP or even TRS or congress.
Those people who are rejoicing at prospects of bifurcation, they will be weeping tomorrow as none of them will come power and there will be kheyas as naxalites will get free passage through safe hands of seema andhrite borders to telangana.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of dividing a single Telugu speaking state into two?

Advantages:
1) Smaller states are easier to manage and keep united in a federation.
2) smaller states have lesser discrepancies in regionwise development(that leads to alienation of some group or another).
3) It partly undoes the old mistake of linguistic states. There are multiple hindi speaking states so why cant there be 2 telegu speaking states.
4) Smaller states are closer to direct democracy as the votes of a minority(not necessarily religious) are not diluted. Eg. 5-6 MLA's of 1 city/cluster may be ignored as insignificant in a large state with 200 MLA's but they would be a sizable chunk for a small state with 100 MLA's.
5) Traditionally Andhra has had a large developmental discrapancy between Telangana regions and Andhra-rayalseema. The Telangana region is resource rich(river cachement area, minerals etc) yet the factories/agriculture has been favored in costal/rayalseema region(by shipping/transporting the water/minerals). This is root-cause of telangana disenchantment and a separate state addresses their grouse.
6) Historically when AP was created by merging the Nizam state(mainly telangana) with telegu ares of madras state, the telangana people had apprehension of being dominated by the more affluent and educated costal/rayalseema. They were promised separation in the united state did not bring them equality. New state just fulfills this old promise.
7) New states imply new cities being developed as capital. Better for India as a whole.

I am not against bifurcation of states if it can create good relations with neighboring states. But in this case it is not going to happen. It is necessary to make a study whether the people of the new states (Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh ) got any benefits as claimed by the politicians before the bifurcation. After the bifurcation all the three states have developed separate capital for them. This is a right decision because it creates lot of new employment . But in this case why Telangana people are asking Hyderabad. They should construct a separate modern Capital instead of an old City like Hyderabad. So this is only a political decision and have no connection with the development . Whether Telangana MPs have used MPLADS properly in their Constituencies.
