TIPU
by sudeesh c on Sep 16, 2015 12:31 PM

Tipu Sultan was a pioneeer in technology. His infantry made use of Nanotechnology to make their sword, that is one of the main reson he was never defeated. His sword was more famous than him.... His military strength was bettere than any Indian rulers of that time.... I remember reading a book on Dr APJ Kalam that he saw Tipu Sultan photo at NASA.... Not sure about as i have never been to NASA.... The british used their own ploicies and defeated Tipu,... Tipu was defeated by his own people not the british.... It is good that a film is made focussing on the deeds he contributed to society and about the killing of the hindus,, i feel we have crossed all those eras and look towards the future....

As a king he was far ahead of his times, he was good ruler. British feared him, so much so, they took the help of Peshwas of Pune to defeat him If one goes to the museum on the top the hillock in Pune where there is also a temple, you will find a painting with a caption::"" British conspiring with Peshwas to defeat Tipu "". We would rather help a foreigner than our won.

why are we trying to paint histories villans in a good light. Tipu was a Tyrant and extremely moody. One day he was tolereant , the next day he carried out massacres of the non mslm population in Mysore and Mangalore regions.

what would you have achieved with tipu's win? further destruction of temples and forced conversion of pusillanimous hindus? did India not lose its independence with the lodhis & baburs rampaging over the territory?

TIPU IS GREAT INDIAN KING.
by satishcbr on Feb 13, 2014 09:30 PM  | Hide replies

Dear all,
I would like to bring it to you all people that one should read history of any past kings before commenting on social sites and misleading people, you can find it from any historians that Tipu is a brave indian king who ruled from srirangapattanam and during the British mission to occupy whole India he stood and fight against the British so much so that one of the British official of east India company in his letter to the queen said that what stands between India and British is Tipu, and when they defeated Tipu, they cut him into pieces, this states the how much Tipu troubled The british,As per history the marathas & the nizams betrayed him in the war against the British,he is the first Indian king to use rockets and guns against the British,he established a unit to study the arms of British and ignominiously made arms to take on British,no other king on that era & even after him can be compared to him

Yes friend, if other kings have helped him, British would have not spread roots in India and we should have seen independent India that time itself.

... the problem comes when they identify with such kings and heap adoration on them. then the dynamics chance.
