This article is not about Vajpayee but what Congress’s & Communist’s view on Vajpayee. The attitude of these parties towards Vajpayee is that India belongs to them and Vajpayee by mistake took over India from them. And they analyze Vajpayee how that exercise was. Who are these writers to create an image of Vajpayee with such skeptic view? And who bothers them. All Indian knows Vajpayee of their own and they don’t need colored glass of these writers.

If he is such a great leader that India needed.. why he vanished from public site after he was thrown out of Power thru electoral process??

FYI, Atal Bihari Vajpayee is under house-arrest and have a restrictive life.. He was not allowed to attend the funeral of that woman whom he was into Living-in relations and adopted her children and became Forster father.
What about Kailash Satyarthi,found suitable for Nabel but unfit for Bharat Ratna?The Govt should make up the backlog by awarding Bharat Ratna to Deen Dayal Upadhyay,Veer Savarkar and others.

the article rightly notes _govindacharya's words. i have visited bjp_adhiveshan. one could see the people flocking a very busy advani for consultations and decisions. vajpayee would be sitting pretty much by himself at some table. the things really going for vajpayee was a) he has little to no ego, indeed a rarest of a rare thing for a politician. always a congenial man ready with a smile. b) he was the only star campaigner the bjp had.
the speeches of vajpayee although delivered interestingly in a polished civility were usually quite mediocre in substance. he generated civility in indian political discourse, not a common commodity in those days of violent communists and socialist goondaism.

Is this the criteria for getting Bharat Ratna?? There are many spineless politicians in Indian Politics.. then will they also get BR?
A gentle reminder for all,It was during his regime Kandahar highjack episode took place,where in Foreign Minister had to personaly deliver 3 most wanted terrorists in exchange of several air passangers. During his regime terrorists attacked Parliament in broad daylight, however no retaliatory action was taken by Atalji's govt.
Vajpayee accommodated the interests of various diverse groups in the nation and kept extremist views and actions under check. When you see the sectarian chaos and ill-feeling being fuelled today by various groups who are allowed a free rein by our leaders , you can understand why Atalji fully deserves the Bharat Ratna.

he was a useless PM ...he could not solve any issues and was only a appeaser .....he did nothing about Ram temple ..he could have tried to initiate dialogue or put pressure on judiciary to decide case as early as possible ...he did nothing ......only 15% of population got benefit rest suffered ....India shing joke fell flat and his govt got kicked out.
