Borrowing 9-11 metaphor is a colonized mindset. Even few of Indian journalists spoke in similar vein about 26-11.
The outcomes of 9-11 are hardly assuring. It led to Iraq war which led to ISIS. Afghanistan has been devastated, and US saddled with a permanent bureaucracy called Homeland security. Muslims in America had for several years harried living, and suspicions though not manifest remain as undercurrents.
Hope Pakistan and Indian subcontinent do better, and have a true awakening to become aware of their shared heritage and immense potentials for a rapid growth along with full legitimization of their strategic capabilities.
It is with such aspiration for a new turn in their relationships and comity among all SAARC nations is what we need to aspire.
Such aspirations can not be built on the renewed call for revenge and mass hanging sans due legal process which the Pakistan Military chief suggests. It has to be build on genuine reconciliation via proper political dialogue. Hot headed military blokes taking a back seat and not interfere in decision making, goaded by the exhortations from super ally operatives is what is worth aspiring for.
These are matters of Insaniyat, Insaaf and Ittefaq; beautiful Hindi/Urdu words which can not be translated. The metaphors to reflect aspirations have to emerge from native languages.
