WHAT IS THRE TO RELISH?
by Ramaswamy on Aug 19, 2014 09:57 PM  | Hide replies

What is there to relish upon a shameless Indian leader bowing before an alien king's tomb. Had ever she bowed to Indian heroes massacred by Babar. We shall relish it, if she would have bowed to an INDIAN muslim king not to a mongol invader.

Our historians trainned by the British or Americans glorify the Mongols ( written as Mughal), but Karl Marx described them as "Barbarian Conquerers" in his book India`s First War of Independence.

But its those barbarian conquerors who taught you what good food is, what good cuisine is and what beauty can be expressed both in words(Urdu) and monuments(Taj Mahal). You have had 67 years, so what is the contribution. Still the Muslim heritage deniers have to use the Red Fort!

Fact is India is an ossified society, shorn off the Muslim heritage. Not a tourist would set foot to check out those stone scratches!

Congs and Secularism
by manikandan pathayapurakkal pillai on Aug 19, 2014 07:15 PM  | Hide replies

I was a supporter of Congress, but when I see congress throwing secular values and kneeing down to IUML and Kerala Cong in Kerala,I understood that this party has lost its secular credentials,it has only appeasement policy to keep its minority vote bank. When I see minorities never vote for others in their majority constituency like hyderabad and malappuram , I feel I am fool to be secular.Still I will not say that there is no one from minorities who think secular, but the acceptance that we have for others is no way recriprocated by others.

Congress was never Secular. What about Khilafat Movement of 1919 which Gandhi had started to restore the Sultan of Turkey on his thrown. Was it a Secular Movement. Had that got anything to do with the Independence of India? When Gandhi-Nehru-Patel partitioned India on the basis of religion, was it a Secular Act?
When Nehru imposed Christian marriage rules on the Hinds and called it a Hindu marriage Law in 1955, was it a secular act?
ecularism means not equal treatment of all religions. It means separation of the religion from the Government. France is a Secular country; it has banned Borkha, turban, Christian Croos from any public places. Can India do that?

INdira bowing to Babur
by Subramaniam narayan on Aug 19, 2014 05:02 PM  | Hide replies

I can't understand the significance of Indira's bowing before Babur's tomb. Did she do so since he started the Mogul rule in India or as a great emperor who contributed to developmant and harmony of the people here? Bowing before Akbar's tomb is somewhat understandable, though many of tough guys do not agree.
I don't know what on her mind. But singh's statement shows how a young man in service uses every opportunity to keep his boss happy.

You should note that Indra Gandhi relied heavily on Muslim support and vote banks to win elections and stay in power. What else do you expect from a dynasty that was useless after Jawaharlal Nehru!
