Regarding judicial Bill
by Ramakrishnan Nair on Aug 15, 2014 11:48 AM

There are some people who consider Mr F.Nariman as the last word in Law. If that be so, Mr F. Nariman should have won all the cases he appeared for. Let him predict the fate of every case that reaches the SC.
Where did the independence of the judiciary lose? Is it because they are not allowed to decide themselves who shd be the judges? First let the judiciary repose faith in the other prospective members of the commission and let all work in unison to keep the esteem of the Indian Judicial system. Once the constitution has said something, does it mean that the same should never be changed and shd continue till the dooms day? Can never the amending power be used by parliament? Independence of judiciary does not mean that they themselves should be allowed to chose their own judges, decide their salaries and other perks, their tenure, their age of retirement etc. It
means that there should be no interference in their judicial functions.
