Sc judge Mr Dave is not the first person to put forth the importance of value education.Many leaders like Mahtma Gandhi,Acharya Binoba Bhave,Bal Gagadhar Tilak,Netaji Subas Chandra Bose,Sarvapalli Radha Krishnan have given much emphasis to imparting education on Gita to people.Vinova Bhave was teaching Gita to Co inhabitants in Jail.Radhakrishnan had written a book on it.But now a days leaders find it vague & absurd to impart value education.Present day leaders are only concern of their vote banks- let their actions ruin human values & society to any extent.

People need to read Bhagvad Gita before commenting on it.
I have read both Gita & Koran, and i would definitely say that Gita gives a message for ALL humans (not just hindus) whereas Koran is JUST for muslims, and to a great extent it's anti-nonmuslims.

I would have said the same thing, had i been a muslim.

Reading is not enough. Have you digested? Swami Vivekananda never spoke like this. Nor Ramkrishna Paramahansa proble is always with the half knowledge and half educated people.

People who want to learn it, give them an option to learn it. People who don't want to, you can keep them out.

Many readers are commenting without fully reading and understanding what the Honorable Judge said. His main concern is for democracy not dictatorship. He emphasizes globalization, i.e., entire world is one; not separated by dividing boundaries between human beings. The essence of ancient Indian culture is that the entire world is one and to see that all people are happy. Contrast this with the separatist mindset which divides people on the basis of religion. What the so called secularists do not understand is that Hinduism is not a religion. It is a way of life. Live and let live is what Indian way of life advocates. If someone talks about introducing our ancient texts such as Vedas and Bhagavadgeeta etc. the so called secularists fight tooth and nail accusing so called saffronisation. But I have heard from young children who learn in convent schools in India that they teach Christianity there in the name of moral classes. I also learn from children that lectures are arranged by Minority education institutions to denigrate Indian way of life and they even utter disrespectful words to M K Gandhi. Is this secularism? There is any way no true secularism in India. True secularism is treating all citizen as equal by the Government. I have heard debates in Indian Parliament where some of the so called secular the Parliamentarians who are in the Government talk about giving benefits to specific religion. Such gross violation of secularism is not objected to by secularists here. Sh

@bahudeen jamaludeen sahab,

It is not enough to be literate, education is also required my friend.

Part of Gita is already studied as a management book (without being imposed by any dictator) in colleges in West.

Gita & Ramayan - Group discussion and study in Bar Council also must be introduced , in addition to what the learned Judge has said. This is not Politics or to do with India being a Secular Country. Private participation on a much larger scale to encourage such aspects of Hinduism is essential - whatever may be the resistance the Government may face. No harm giving equal opportunity to all faiths , but a definet push is needed in this direction with equal money spend by all classes. this is where Hinduism gets the knock, as foreign funding agencies are in plenty for others. Jai Hind.
