they should not be given the death penalty as this is the easy way out. they should be kept behind bars for the rest of their lives so that each and every day they will be reminded why they are in the jail.
JUDGEMENT IS WRONG. DEATH PENALTY TO BE GIVEEN ONLY TO RAREST OF RARE CASE. RAPE CANNOT BE CONSIDERED AS MURDER. THIS IS SAUDI ARABIN RULE. LET IMPLEMENT ALL SAUDI RULES

No..the punishment may be a little harsh but abs. necessary to deter future rapists...this is a lesson for all..no one should attempt it again..
recommend reservatiosn for peaceful minorities in jails? Because 80% of the criminals in this case are peaceful minority. Also shows that even when they are just 15% of the population, they will form the majority amongst criminals. Someone should file an RTI application seeking a religion wise breakup of rapists and other criminals and i am sure that the peaceful majority will be at the top of the list.

Guys like you should be in a mental asylum in this country. That will bring real peace.
Now a death sentence has been passed. let us see it being carried out immediately and not waste another 5-10 years, beating around the bush logging appeals in different court wasting court time and taxpayers money. I would like to see these offender hanged within a month. Not much to ask is for ruining 2 lives for 10 minutes of one sided pleasure.

YES, JUSTICE DELAYED IS JUSTICE DENIED AND IS VERY COMMON IN INDIA. I AGREE WITH Ms SHEETAL KAUR THAT AT LEAST HANG THEM SWIFTLY TO GET THE DESIRED FEAR TO SUCH MISCREANTS AS THEY THINK, INDIAN JUDICIARY IS COMPLICATED AND AFTER FEW YEARS, THE CULPRITS GETS BAIL OR RELEASED. NIRBHAY'S DELAY TO AWARD CAPITAL PUNISHMENT IS ONE SUCH CASE.

Please broadcast the carrying out of the sentences Live on National TV. It would be gratifying to watch these monsters cry, fight and then wriggle until they are stone dead. I know this will not bring the modesty of the women back, it will not bring back the lives of those they brutalised, but the sight will be a constant reminder for those would-be criminals, that crime never pays. It will be a heavy deterrent for any one even thinking about committing the crime. Let's finish sentencing the remaining criminals and hang in earnest so that we can celebrate a proper dushehra and deewali this year when good finally prevailed over evil.

I wholly agree with you, carrying out sentence behind bars does not serve any purpose except that it just takes the offenders out of criminal configuration. If these criminals are punished in full view of the public, the potential offenders will also feel the pain and fear that the same will happen to them if they offended in a similar way. It may not stop such crimes completely but one thing guaranteed it defiantly will reduce the crime.
It seems that we are now treating a criminal as criminal and are not seeing first their caste & community,long practiced by wicked politicians for providing concession/commuting the criminals.
All cruel,habitual molesters & rapist deserve strict punishment,moreover all should endeavour to imbibe moral values,must for any progressive society.
