DOPT has issued the directives to honour MPs/MLAs publicly because they have been given such status by Parliament. DOPT has ignored the fact that the Parliment acquire power through public and the members of parliament are not only the peoples representative who won 50.01% vote but why one should ignore who earned 49.99% vote. Whether, a defeated leader earning confidence of 49.99% voter are not public figures. DOPT should apply the sense. Whether the MPs/ MLAs arrested (to be arrested)will be honoured by Public Servant like DM/ SP and/or by others.
