Raheel's appointment sounds like retreat Bugle
by Debasish Sarkar on Nov 29, 2013 04:19 PM

This incident, though appears a small one, but carries a bigger significance for India.
It means-
1. The Army dominance Pakistan's politics will end soon.
2. Americans are pushing hard, so that Pakistan will soon lose Charlie's hand-outs unless Pak comes to sense, i.e. allow Pok to annex with India, so that India gains access to Afghanistan. For India, Gaining access to Afghanistan is the most priority to stop Commie-Chines's aggressive, hegemonic stance over SA. Charlie alone can not stop China's expansion, so she needs Indian help.
3. If by chance, Pakistan does not heed Charlie's suggestion, the Pakistan's existence will be in a big question mark. It will dissolve. First casualty will be Baluchistan, which is fighting for independence. And this state will join Indian federation.
On considering above points- I respect Chalie's view points, and her political manoeuvre.

seniority vs qualification
by dineshhassija on Nov 29, 2013 03:55 PM

though there is no substitute for experience but still qualification and small experience could do wonder at higher level and could be far better than long experienced one...

Newly appointed PAK Army chief
by inder munshi on Nov 28, 2013 10:18 AM  | Hide replies

In your news item on the above subject it has been mentioned that Pak PM Nawaz Sharif is a Kashmiri and that is one of the reasons that he has appointed General Rasheel Sharif as the new Army chief of Pak as he aslo happens to be Kashmiri. Which is not true. Nawaz Sharif is a Punjabi and not a Kashmiri.

Kashmiri is a kind of caste. I am born and bred in Lahore, Punjab but I am a kashmiri, which means my forefathers were from Kashmir. Nawaz Sharif is a kashmiri too.
