first give answers then debate
by B Narendra on Nov 02, 2013 06:22 AM  | Hide replies

First sibal should answer the questions raised by MODI. Then we can debate on other things. Even I am ready for debate. If he can answer my questions later he may go to MODI. Modi gives speeches because people listen to him. There will no attendance if sibal speaks so he keeps press conferences

People go to Modi's peeach by paying for tickets and not like Sibals' party bringing people by paying them.

Debate between candidates is good but is Kapil Congress candidate
by American Indian on Nov 02, 2013 05:29 AM

Mr Sibal,
Its good you accept 2 points BJP has been making for time:
a) US presidential election style debates between main contenders and
b) Modi is the main contender against Congress.
However before you challenge Modi for a debate, Can you confirm if you are the congress candidate for PM(Modi is the BJP candidate for PM). If not get your PM candidate(Rahul/MMS/Priyanka's son/???) for debate.
If you want a debate as a lieutenant of Congress, dont run away from debate when BJP fields its own equivalent. We can also seek assurance from BJP that the nominated person will be made cabinet rank minister(your position in UPA) if BJP wins.
As far as I know top leaders of either party don't field lots of press conferences directly. However they(including Modi) do field few conferences and standby the words of their nominated Press spokes persons.
Modi has announced far more alternative vision and plans directly and through spokespersons than your own likely PM candidate(Rahul Gandhi). His slogans for Congress hatao are accompanied by sound logical reasoning of Kyon congress hatao. to qualify for a debate(even with junior BJP leader) why don't you start by a press conference of why his logic of Congress hatao is wrong?

He said there is no debate required on those topics listed by Abhijit as the loss in those scams are zero. Did you try to call him too?

Sibal challenge Modi for a debate
by P SHAH on Nov 01, 2013 11:48 PM  | Hide replies

There is competition in Congress to try extra efforts to please Gandhi family. First Digvijay challenged Modi and now Sibal has shown his desire to have debate with Modi. But knowing both peoples capabilities and abilities to tackle Modi Congrss dont want to take any risk by allowing both of them to reduce congress partys chance to retain power after the next election. Why the Prime Ministerial candidate Rahul dont show any intention to have live debate with Modi ? Becuse he very well know his limitation and Rahul Baba has no doubt that Modi will completely make him a MAMA in the debate.

Modi should not duck for cover under some pretexts. He should come forward to take on Kapil. Why should BJP call second level and third level and things like that ? No one is of any level until people hear them. Blaring lies from podiums don't help. BJP have opened a shop of lies. Go ahead we want a debate of Kapil-Modi.

In a proper debate
by piri on Nov 01, 2013 10:52 PM  | Hide replies

that pits one against the other point by point and where each is allowed to complete his arguments (albeit without wasting time with repetitions), Kapil Sibal would flatten Modi in quick time.

While Sibal is the old fox who is well versed in the ways of forceful arguments, Modi is just all hot air, loud noise and repetitions. And to top that up, Modi also either ignores every argument that looks remotely inconvenient or counters with opinions instead of arguments.

All this is not to say that Kapil Sibal is entirely right. Why, he is just another version of Modi - he uses subtle lies repeatedly to cover up the truth!

And that is where the grand similarity between the Congress and the BJP surfaces - both use lies in various forms to cover up the truth!

If you are so keen to have debate between two equal capable, then other suggestion is to have debate between two Harvard folks - Sibal and Dr Swamy. That should be mouth watering.

Yes, that would indeed be mouth watering for aficionados of staged dramas!

For, both Mr. Sibal and Mr. Swamy would be jousting with each other with their partial truths and both would resolutely be ignoring the parts of the truth that they do not like!

Proper? In what context except for people like you says so? Political debate happens between two aspiring candidates for the same position by answering all questions from people, state their vision and clarifying how they meet those vision etc., BJP has picked Modi as their PM nominee and Congress has not done it (for whatever excuses they can claim) and hence debate can happen only when PM candidate is picked by Congress.
