yes that is the truth,the way of diverting the focus from burning problems,people and media.India china relation,gates,internal security ,monumental corruptions,scarcity of water drought, unbridled politicians. greed to retain power by any means total anarchy, safeguarding, culprits, scapegoating and shielding main culprits are the few examples
Betting is a human streak. It is man's urge to take risks that people have discovered the depths of some dangerous caves and underground rivers. exploring space is also possible because of such a natural urge in man to explore. We have to learn lessons from Mahabharata when such streak was respected and even celebrated. At the same time there is a lesson in it that blind and extreme indulgence is dangerous. When the dice is loaded against you it is better to rein in your urge. It is foolish of our governments to try to curb this adventurous spirit and claim a moral high ground. People will find other channels to fulfill their urge. As such it imperative that we legalize betting on cricket and earn some money for the general population. at the same time be very very harsh on fixing.

good point, no wonder it moves underground. alcohol too is the same. if they ban alcohol, it moves underground or there is a permit raj. it's upto society to debate over the same
Why not legalise betting as in europe and america? If you can bet on horses,lottery tickets, why not on sports? let owners of IPL teams keep their guys in check. Why waste tax payers' money on them? If the owners want to lose matches, let them !
