India Major parts of country is under spells of drought.Add to that inflationary pressures.It is rather sad that the FM and PM(both respected economists) are not doing enough on the latter. Modi Let me put through some points. 1.Villages in Gujarat are under severe drought spells.There are also talks of corruption in Gujarat. 2.Mr.Modi seems to favour industrialization over agriculture in his home state.There have talks recently regarding his development model,but it needs to incorporate the aspirations of rural development as well(food security) 3.He needs to be congratulated on his speech during pre-election campaign(Gujarat).During the campaign, he said that farmers would not get free electricity.Any another politician would have succumbed to electoral vote-bank politics. 4.The next 10 or 15 years is crucial for India.Anybody who governs this country needs to recognize the growing power of China.It is a now or never moment.Any slack now and we would be ruing later that we missed the growth bus.But certain internal dynamics(food prices,oil prices,money management)have changed drastically due to globalization.Socialism does not hold significance.Sad that budget did not incorporate the suggestions of a strong 5-year plan. So,leadership on governance(rural-urban balance)has to be the focus.5-yr plan model has to be followed.Modi has to be aware about red tap-ism in our country which puts development and entrepreneurship on hold.It is tough ask for any leader.

The Maha issue is a more complex one with all political parties involved in financial gains inclusive of NCP(CNN-IBN report). Water scarcity is artificially introduced in Maha.Gujarat may be different.That is why there is need for balance.While our economist PM has no vision on this, ditto for Rahul who is eating at villages and Modi who leans a bit towards industries.

BJP/RSS and many of us are in the habit of calling Manmohan Singh an American stooge. But what is Modi doing now,first he got Gautam Adani of Adani enterprises to contribute a huge sum to the Wharton Business school,so that Modi could deliver the key note address in the Wharton campus in USA.When certain Proffessors and student bodies protested, the invitation to Modi was called off.And now again it is learnt that Modi got the CII a Federation of Indian Industry to invite a bunch of American Industrialists/businessmen/politicians to come to Gujerat and meet him, and invite him to USA. I just can't understand why this man, shrewd as he is is dying to get US acceptance, as if that will seal his candidature for India's PM. By these tactics he is becoming a laughing stock not only in BJP,but also giving Congress something to cheer about.
