we need to lower taxes
by Gaurav GUPTA on Mar 22, 2013 06:13 PM

We are not under taxed, we are over taxed. And that stand true for everyone who purchases anything made by any remotely reputed company.

Almost all services have been put under service tax. It’s safe to say that 30% of our purchasing power is spent after indirect taxation.

This is after paying 10%-30% as our hard earned money as direct taxes.

The second thing is the criminal wastage of this tax collected. The tax collected fuels all the scams under various govt schemes rather than building infra structure.

We do not have a section “ amount paid as bribes” as deductibles.

This is why the taxpaying people of India equate paying taxes to throwing money into a river/or a fire. Asking them to pay any more taxes is like punishing them for being productive rather than a government dependent maggot.

Elephant in the room
by Rationalist on Mar 22, 2013 05:55 PM  | Hide replies

All these pseudo intellectuals seem to forget the Elephant in the room ie our Over population. Without addressing that whatever done is not enough and unsustainable. How much can you keep extracting from the rich and what will do after even they are exhausted or evade. These are typical unsustainable unpragmatic commie ideas.

Become rich and get taxed? Or become poor and be taken care of?
