In the end it comes to religion when we talk about politics. The majority sunni population will never want a Hindu India in any of their matters at any cost!

ANYBODY CAN DEFY
by SRIDHAR RAGHUNATHARAO on Mar 19, 2013 10:12 AM

Every small country like Maldives, Bangladesh, Burma etc can defy India. Any small regional party that supports Govt can make Govt to wag it's tail. Rich can defy Govt by not paying tax. Any small politician can openly defy any rule. Any minority community ( Not majority )can make Govt to frame policy in it's favour thro' vote politics. And, a minority party that is capable of forming coalition can upset the democratic principles and rule the State/ Country. One may imagine like this as wildly as possible. ALL THAT IS POSSIBLE IN INDIA - YES OUR COUNTRY INDIA.

neighbours as enemies
by vramanathan ramanathan on Mar 19, 2013 10:03 AM

Megalomaniac Nehru declared in Srilanka that he has asked his army to throw out the Chinese, without knowing the ground realities. 1962 is a shameless chapter Indian history (which are not taught in schools) This attitude has continued for fifty years when the Nehru family was in power, they made enemies of all neighbours during their rule. Vajpayee (bless him) brought about a change with his visit to Pak and started making friends with neighbour countries small in size (though not influencing them). Back to Nehru dynasty siuation has worsened. Sonia has made enemies of small and large surrounding nations from China through Pakistan to Maladives. we are not welcome anywhere. The sins of the dynasty have fallen on us poor. V Ramanathan village rengasamudram

Need for becoming stronger other things will fall in line automat

I think time has come when we should focus on new ways of growth - relooking into all our policies plus increasing our economic strength. But then political imbalance has become our worst enemy. Government seems to have become less effective due to its arrogance (which is now changed of course )plus myopic view of other political parties. From this angle we have some what become weak and need to be rejuvenated. See now China has become top exporter of military hardware and we are top importers - what a difference plus so many scandals. Unless we have a strong Government and also really concerning about growth beyond 5 year term it will become very difficult to reconstruct India. In 2014 the chances are again that there will be fractured mandate so political dramas are not going to stopped.
As far as our neighbours are concerned, compulsons are known. Can China ever think that India will be his good neighbour when it believes in hegemony? A mad neighbour is worse. Can Pakistan become our good friend ? Why to waste time on it. Still it progressed since it kept in view its own progress. So let us work for developing ourselves in a strong way and all other problems will automatically be resolved

There are little unverified theories in you post. First I guess we love to think India was super rich before britishers came.
But the states which were never part of british empire, like princely state of hyderabad and plenty of rajputana states in rajasthan, were more backward than India when they were merged with republic of India.
We all know britishers never destroyed any heritage of India, rather they discovered mohenjodaro and harrapa and gave india a glory, but still we do not have any sign of India being super rich for the commoners.
There is no proper city developed by Indians before britishers (e.g. london or paris or vienna).
Only entities rich in India were royals and temples. There is absolutely no proof of commoners being rich and economy being developed.

Yeah read that. I think you missed this paragraph.

It should be stressed that, historically speaking, population size is the far more important multiplier in the equation. This is because, in contrast to industrial economies, the average income ceiling of premodern agrarian societies was quite low everywhere, possibly not higher than twice the subsistence level.[1] Therefore, the total GDP as given below primarily reflects the respective historical population size, and is much less indicative of contemporary living standards than, for example, estimations of past GDP per capita are.

I would suggest you to read this.

List_of_regions_by_past_GDP_(PPP)_per_capita.

So I am flapping my ignorant tongue like a frog!!

Because, Indians are good for nothing. While entire europe was getting industrialized, India still sucked at it. Till the world revolved around agriculture, India was just able to sustain. You see because you don't have to do much in agriculture. Work for 2 months in a year and crops grow by themselves. There was no science being taught in India, people were just happy to get 2 square meals from their farms. Education was not there for commoners. No school system was there in India. Remember, britishers brought that along with them. So how India would have kept pace?

And look for the year 1700 to get more insight, British rule wasn't even there in 1700 and compare it with other european countries

And also pay attention to how China's per capita GDP was always more than India, EXCEPT for the part where India was the part of british empire while china continued to sustain on its own.
