I agree with you Sheetal. I was in Delhi 2005 and the amount of tourcher these perverts used give to school girls-married women was disgusting. It took atleast 2 years to secure job in Pune and keep my family safe. I asked my girlfriend to move to Pune but her parents would not allow then her fiance raped her before marriage along with his office friends. One thing is good the river has come to the sinner's door step. A sign from nature to clean off sins or face death.

Yamuna flows into streets of East Delhi
by Sheetal Kaur on Jun 20, 2013 05:44 PM  | Hide replies

These people who are suffering from over flowing Yamuna are the very people who throw rubbish and other discarded items into Yamuna, thus blocking it to a point that it does not flow freely even during its normal flow level.
Now don't blame the government for not doing enough, Public is the first who are responsible government should clean up the Yamuna and other rivers, Then prosecute and punish severely those who pollute the rivers, including those business who discharge effluents int the rivers with processing it first.
Time to take a solid action, and not just talks.

While I agree with you that to a great extent the people are resposible for throwing the garbages to the river blocking its flow, the politicians and the corrupt bureaucracy are equally responsible for turning a blind eye towards the illegal and haphazard construction of buildings and encroachment of the river profile leading to flood! The indiscriminate use of platic bags with impunity also aggregate the situation! No one can touch the business community who pollute the rivers by discharging the untreated effluent to the rivers since they are their financers during elections!
