Hindu tourism is age old for millions of years and faulting that highly foolish and crooked to appease minorities.Proved that nothing has happened by these tours to any ecology. The writer must be a C'gress crook.
Particularly those who come from outside to the state be it for: 1. Temples related construction, pollution, encroachment. 2. Ashramas set up for business purposes. 3. Illegal resorts, hotels, real estate constructions etc.
1. Ban Diesel SUVs/Cars indside Haltay region 2. Impose entry tax in Himalayas 3. Ban any construction (except infrastucture) on riverside all over India 4. Stop mindless power projects as it does more harm than good 5. Better facilities lure more travellers thus stop 5 star facilities in hills, in fact there should be no hotel in hills beyond one star. 6. Encourage plantation of herbs and other tradiional species.
I beleive above measures can help in less erding of himalayas.

Yes, I agree with you. Nice measures if carried out. So.. called 21st century people ending up with all political battles,womaniser.. etc. forgetting culture and ethics. Each and every measure of old days are golden.. if one understands the meaning. The people who cannot understand.. blame everyone thats. it Thats not their fault. 21st century sense ... :-)
Shri goal Krishna has made the point accurately. Are we going to seriously learn from tis Himalayan tragedy & make amends in our conduct & performance at least from now on? there are vested interests opposing the heritage tag by the UN given to the fragile & endangered bio hot spot of Western Ghats. Some PWD Ex Engineer is threatening to fast calling for diversion of West flowing Netravathi River waters to Bangalore rural, Tumkur etc. These are the kind of misguided voices that have & are wrecking the balance of our fragile environment. It is high time that we behaved more sensibly & as a mature society
