UPA wants to make more laws without enforcing existing provisions of the law. it wants to take more discretionary powers to itself to make allies/CMs toe their line. How unfortunate that an Harvard educated man should propose such a law. No wonder some CMS boycot and call the annual CMs' meet a ritual to make CMs rubber stamps. V ramanathan village rengasamudram

Why cant Gujrat and MP police use MCCOCA itself?
by on Jun 06, 2013 02:13 AM

Gujrat and Madhya pradesh are waiting Central govt to approve POTA like strong antiterror laws(passed by state assemblies. Cenral(UPA) govt opposes this plea despite Maharashtra being allowed to have a similar law called MCCOCA on the pretext that Gujrat/MP govt are likely to misuse such a law that allows confessions to be used as evidence. Howver Delhi police has shown the way out. Despite being a different state, Delhi police slapped MCCOCA charges on 3 cricketers accused on IPL spot fixing. Why cant Gujrat and MP police also arrest their terrorists under same law(although its a Maharashtra law and not Gujrat/MP law)>

In the recently conducted Bonn
by piri on Jun 05, 2013 09:45 PM  | Hide replies

conference by earth scientists on the state of Planet earth, one of the papers presented noted that the Indian sub-continent (comprising India, Pakistan and Bangladesh) stood out as the most environment-stressed place on earth.

The paper went on to say that the data gleaned from numerous studies conducted on the sub-continent's biosphere over several years establishes that its ratio of exploitable resources to population strength is the lowest in the world. Put simply, this means that the quantum of resources available for sustainable use by the people of the sub-continent simply cannot give them a high-consumption lifestyle.

This finding should be most disheartening to those in the three countries who believe that India, Pakistan and Bangladesh can in time become "developed" and their peoples attain the lifestyles of those in the developed countries such as the US and western Europe. Far from reaching the levels of per capita consumption prevailing in those countries, they would do great and irreversible harm to their environment should they attempt to reach consumption levels prevailing in the not so developed countries such as those in Eastern Europe, Latin America and China!

These findings should not be surprising at all considering that there are nearly 170 crore people living in these 3 countries and that there are only 84 crore people in the entire African continent which has a land area nearly 5 times that of the Indian sub-continent!

Many Politicians Will Be Criminals If Laws Properly Interpreted
by Bigtribe on Jun 05, 2013 09:40 PM  | Hide replies

Many politicians or even CMs opposing NCTC are so dubious that if laws of the country interpreted in spirit & truth, many of whom could be termed as criminals or anti-nationals.

1. Jayalalitha is facing grievous case on disproportionate assets - has a clear case of looting money.

2. Modi is still considered a suspected criminal implicated in the riots. He will face the truth anytime in the future.

3. Naveen is deeply involved in illegal mining and money pay off for favors done.

Modi may or may not be implicated in the riots case.

But no one is talking about his corrupt-as-corrupt-can-be credentials! When his dubious decisions regarding private capital are brought into focus, there is the inevitable cry from his supporters that he has no need for the money and that he does not enrich himself in any way.

This argument, whether true or not, is simply beside the point. The issue at hand is whether Modi allowed profiteers to loot public resources and natural resources.

And this is exactly what Modi has been doing for long in Gujarat in the name of "development"!

oh is it ? Now lets see what the Congress does. It does the same and more. It enriches its pockets too. The only difference. Congress has allowed and looted the public resources and natural resources for more than 50 years. Now beat that !!

So you agree with me regarding Modi's 'development'?

And in return, I agree wholeheartedly with you regarding the Congress!

You are right. The Congress as well as the BJP have been allowing profiteers to loot without let up in the name of "development", "liberalisation", "economic reforms", etc.!
