By amedning the RTI Act to exclude political parties from it's ambit the government is saying that what is good for other public bodies not not good for political parties.

How can transparaency in public bodies be bad?

Why not

Why not scrap this act completely?

It is obvious that the bill for this act was conceived at one of Congress Party's euphoric, alcohol fueled power o_r_g_i_e_s to celebrate its return to power in 2004!

Given the number of crooked people it has in the party and the amount of spoils Congress Party earns from being the most corrupt party in India, it was absolutely counter intuitive on its part to allow the enactment of this bill!

Hopefully, this is the first step in repealing this charade of being transparent and being dark and secretive about its dealings like it was before!

We miss the days corruption was carried out by this party with the appropriate amount of shame and disgrace it deserves to carried out with!

Ridiculous!

Why shouldn't politicians and their political parties be answerable for their actions.

As the electorate, we have every right to question them. They should be accountable to us, the people who elected them.

Each day, more and more of our politicians increasingly show us how shameless they are ...and how impotent we are....to stop them.

ECONOMY GOING DOWN
by buzzer on Aug 01, 2013 12:11 PM

The Govt is extremely short on finance. It has therefore instructed all departments to extract money using any means.

WHICH IS WHY THERE IS A SPATE OF CASES.

Customs , Excise, Service Tax, Income Tax.. etc etc.
Each Govt department is sending show cause notices, demands, summons for taxes, penalty, etc. New types of claims are being fabricated under each law even for businesses which are running legally. In cases where the claims are evidently baseless the Govt departments quietly tell the assessee to come under some compromise settlement so that there is at least some collection. Companies accept this because they cannot afford long drawn litigation - as it is sales are down for all. There is simply no money in the market.

RTI exemption to political parties
by bholanath prasad on Aug 01, 2013 11:56 AM

This is dangerous. People are not going to allow loot of exchequer and opacity of funding to political parties, that is root cause of graft in India.
