Then, Why not cooperate in formation on new constitution and go to masses for re-election?. I think Army is not claiming that it will rule for ever, they are offering re-election and democratic process in short time.

A proper and reasonable demand is that, re-election process is monitored by neutral international monitors, role of army in civilian affairs be clear, conditions and requirements for sacking a democratically elected Government be clear and above all constitution should guarantee basic right to life and harmless self-expression to the losing parties in election.

Anyway, I don’t consider it a military coup because the primary motivation for overthrow of Government does not came from army, it came from the protesting public.

Having said that, this type of behaviour cannot be encouraged and appreciated, for once the issue might be ignored and forgiven, considering that Egypt is a new and recently formed democracy.

But for future, Egyptians should have proper checks and balances in place to make sure this kind of things might not be easily repeated or they risk becoming joke in name of Democracy.
