Advani must learn lesson from 2009 debacle
by P Dutta on Jul 28, 2013 04:31 PM

Advani must realise that he alone is responsible for 2009 and 2004 debacle of NDA. In 2004 he was playing almost similar game, though surreptitiously, as he playing now. He had targeted Vajpai then and now it is Modi. In 2009, he was given absolute responsibility and entire NDA recognised him as its leader. However, Manmohan's one interview blew off the air inside the puffed up balloon of Advani in which he called the doublespeak of this self-styled PM candidate of BJP on matters of extreme importance, such as Babri Mosque episode, Kandhar episode and many others. Mr Manmohan Singh had shown by citing examples how inconsistent this person called Advani had been in his political career. That stigma, as very categorically enumerated by Mr Singh then remains stuck to him and his followers will have to carry the burden of the stigma. Also in all the nationwide surveys on acceptability of BJP stalwarts, Modi outperforms the rest so much so that all of them put together cannot match his popularity. In such a situation when BJP is not prepared to hand over leadership to Advani and his stooges and the nation is least bothered about them except some UPA sponsored writers and media houses, they are left with only two choices: one to split BJP and make Advani the PM candidate of the faction or second to remain in BJP succumbing to the realities of the situation. All these people must know that Advani's leadership in 2014 will ensure complete annihilation of BJP.

2. Desperately begging VISA for Modi...whom all western nations have banned his entry.
3. Friends of BJP in USA are ready to donate funds for the elections but below his expected amount.

A perceptible decline in ethics & political culture is getting reflected in the eroding credibility of the Indian Feudal DEMOCRACY.

Attempts to safeguard vested interests have led to politicization of Democracy.

The increasing political interference in the functioning of Court Matters and presence of pliable eccentrics have led to a situation that people are fastly loosing faith in the DEMOCRATIC system.

arvind kayan
PM candidate
by arvind kayan on Jul 26, 2013 11:23 AM

The entire oppositions and Congress are betting on the BJP announcing Mr. Modi as their PM candidate and all the crying around is for that simple reason. On the other hand, BJP has just given him the task of heading the elections.
The Congress has seized this as an opportunity to cover up their deficiencies and numerous scams plaguing the Govt. while the other parties are playing ball.
BJP should remain focused at governance. Mandir at Ayodhya is subjudice, hence any call or take on the subject is futile. Similarly other issues, which are in the court of law, will have no implication n ground level.
These are subjects which are diverting the attention from the real issues like corruption, inflation, crime etc.
Mr. Modi, even if is appointed the PM will be at a later date by the parliamentary committee of the BJP while the other party is absolutely silent and indecisive about their own candidate.
