Regarding KKNPP Myths
by shri gupta on Jul 28, 2013 08:46 PM

I don't know the source of the story that Rediff has published above. However all such matter that has been published is totally baseless and far from truth. Infact any nuclear power plant has a well established and highly advanced waste management facility where the waste is treated before discharging into any water body. IN addition the plant has got the approval of three independent auditors viz AERB, State Pollution control board and Minstry of Enviroment. The apex court has itself provided nod for a go ahead to criticality. So why this hue and cry.
Inspite of publishing such report ,Rediff should send its personnel to the site to witness the truth .

Why wasn't the plant required to create its own captive water reservoir into which to dump its effluent and recharge its cooling system...not only can the discharge be moe easily monitored but put less strain on the beach ecosystem.

This was not thought of. That quantum of potable water cud have been used for other purposes. wasting so much water for power
is not ideal thinking.

Blatant falsehood
by venkatesh modur on Jul 26, 2013 05:49 PM

6.3 billion litres = 6300 million litres. I would be surprised if Kundankulam used more than a couple of million litres of seawater as collant in a day. It is obvious that the author has no facts and is idulging in fear mongering. I would request Rediff to ask authors to show facts before they allow anyone to publish articles.

All this hue and cry i without any basis. What is the authenticity of the data. Rediff, as a responsible firm should first verify the the correctness/accuracy of the data to be published in their site, before clearing the content.
There are so many nuclear plants running without any issues.

Automic Power
by guptaapsn on Jul 26, 2013 01:04 PM

Automic power is only cheep source to produce current. No doubt the cost of the plant initially may costly. production cost is cheaper than any other source.
European countries are targeted India power sector to take over and few are willfully playing cheap tricks by paying bribes to fisheries.

From 1Kg of Uranium you can produce current for hundreds of years. The chemical property of Uranium only changes into Plutonium & Thorium. But it will never disappear. If we consume 1kg of Uranium, after 100 years 950grams of Uranium will remain with us. Plant will discharge only hot water but no carbon or any other effluents like coal based plants.
So ppl. don't read such articles and encourage.
