Majority of India resides in villages. It is not the peoples fault in the villages, but they are not concerned about economy, exchange rate, scams etc. Their life is so difficult their main concern is meeting day to day, or crop to crop living. So no matter how corrupt the govt. is, giving few sops like NAREGA, Food Security, Loan Waiver, Cash as Subsidy is more dear to the rural India as they are totally unaware that the sops are actually coming from their own pocket and not govts. They are not aware that their future is compromised for a few freebies. This is a vicious circle maintained purposely by the ruling party so that they can continue to rule.
Urban voters are minority and cannot overthrow the central govt. And most of the urban vote bank is also getting added by migrants from villages.
So it is a win win for the govt. even though it is unfortunate.

Gujarat was once the 2nd richest state in India next to Maharashtra and now it has gone down many ranks. States like TN, Karnataka, AP & UP has grown much quicker in the last 12 years. People across our country used to come to Gujarat for employment but now people from Gujarat are going to other states.
At least 58 of every 100 students in Gujarat failed to make it to high school. That represents the 16th highest dropout rate in the country.
Ahmedabad was once called the manchester of India and now all textile companies are based around Tirupur in TN. No major IT company has a big presence in Gujarat. Not many automobile companies are investing in Gujarat except for 2 or 3 compared to dozens investing in Maharashtra, TN and other states.
Gujarat was once home to all the Pharmaceutical firms but now all pharma firms are in Maharashtra, AP or Karnataka. Students from Gujarat looking for higher studies are forced to go to Karnataka or Maharashtra. Illicit liquor industry is flourishing for last many years. Tons of people are becoming handicapped or even dying by consuming these liquors. Unfortunately no action is taken as the major distributors are close aides of Modi.
This is the sad state of Gujarat, a state with enough resources like minerals, water, arable land and tons of rich Gujarati businessmen in and outside our country. Did Modi create Reliance_Amul_Akshardham_or_good_monsoon_season? What will Modi do if he is asked to take charge of poor state like Assam?

First of all mind ur English...and abt english, in Britain even the sweepers speak English so better import one white skinned sweeper which perhaps will serve u people's purpose or will give ur community temporary respite from the fobia of Modi.
Can congress show guts to have their candidate take on an Live dicsussion on national TV ? Not a single congresss leader would have courage to do this. This speaks about how the people of this nation are being fooled by congress and UPA.
