TN

Unfortunately becos of pathetic leaders , TN is suffering. Till recently it has been oneof the most developed ,literate, industrialized states.. But it has been going backwards in the past decade..

Cities like bangalore, hyderabad with lesser resources have already overtaken chennai in becoming IT capital.. Autombiles are moving to gujarat.

There has been no vision , no development.. our airport is ranked was the worst.. It quite embarassing and hurting..

With its rich talent pool TN shud be the No 1 state and chennai shud be No1 city showing the way for the rest.. instead both are going backards and the people have to pay the price for it..

Although Chennai is still second largest for IT, TN's major strength has been manufacturing. And there TN is competing not with Gujrat or AP or KN or MH, but with Thailand, Indonesia etc. And if the partisan central govt attitude continues, TN will lose but so will India. What has the central govt done for TN so far? No new airports, lower share of electricity, last of city metros in Chennai, no central govt research or management or higher studies institutions in TN, no modernization of british built suburban railways, last but not least the central govt can't get TN it's legitimate share of Cauvery! So while TN leaders may not be great, the stepmotherly attitude of GoI has also affected TN.

it is the problem of prioritising the investment and expenditure! when when an expenditure is made with eye on elections and grabbing the votes, long tertm investments like on roads, power etc. go haywire!

But Karunanidhi has put in specific instructions with ministry of power, New Delhi not to sanction any TN application for power plant. And until it wins 2014 the Congress will also be foolish to see TN coming out of power crisis. Hence they blocked power transmission from Northern grid to TN but allowed it to Congress-ruled Kerala.

Tamil Nadu Power shortage
by Subramaniam narayan on Jan 29, 2013 07:37 PM  | Hide replies

Lack of vision in adding power capacity has landed the state into this mess.
We read that the state is planning to add 3,000 megawatts solar energy in three years. It is good news. Hope Jayalalitha takes personal interest and brings it about. They have to think of adding thermal power also.
The days of the politicians feeding the public with the greatness of Tamil which can solve all their problem are over. People are expecting improvement in their day to day life. good thing also. The current set of politicians came to power on the strength of Tamil, they cannot continue to thrive on that.
Time they improved the infrastructure. Tamil Nadu is a great state it should not rot.
