Many "Super secularists" exhibit symptoms of selective amnesia when it comes to the Gujrat riots. The post Godhra riots are indeed a blot on the secular fabric of our country. But do you expect common people to keep chanting the mantra of secularism and keep quiet when their people are butchered in cold blood. Gujrat provided an opportunity to many right wing elements to flex their muscles in the surcharged atmosphere after the train burning.
I welcome the court judgements against the criminals & fanatics who carried out Naroda Patiya, Sardarpura & Best Bakery attacks. But how many Mus1ims & super secularists welcomed the Death sentence for 11 & conviction of about 25 people for the train burning? The fanatics & zealots of Godhra are responsible that the Gujrat riots happened in the first place. These people too have the blood of their own community on their hands for triggering the violent backlash.
Hatemongers like Akbaruddin Owaisi are themselves the biggest enemies of the ordinary Mus1im, as it reinforces typical stereotypes and encourages distrust & discrimination. By exhibiting belligerence & denigrating the religious beliefs and hurting the sentiments of the majority community, leaders like Owaisi only further harm the security & safety of ordinary Indian Mus1ims and most of all- helps strengthen the hands of the right wing fundamental & fringe elements, as they derive legitimacy from such utterances against H1ndus.
