useless expenditure

same amount could have fetched atleast 43.44 crore rupees in interest at 8% p.a. in a bank in india. with that money so much could have done every year instead of building this temple. what purpose will this temple serve? in almost 44 crore rupees interest every year don't these people think that a small hospital in atleast 50 acres of land could have been built with all modern amenities in some rural part of gujarat. the same money could have been invested in CCTV cameras in gujarat. In raising height of railway platforms, as our government never looks into these critical basic needs. The same money could have been used to build multi level parking in ahmedabad, surat, vadodara where parking is a big issue. In building public toilets as they are not available. I often wonder where do shopkeepers go to urinate or excrete as there are almost no toilets in commerical markets and majority of shops doesn't contain this facility. Finally you see gutters and nalas choked and stinking every where. Roads littered. So in the end money could have spent wisely. Same money could have been used to build one world class institute where free management, engineering or medical education could have been provided.

gr8 comment. We can afford CWG scams, 2G scams, Adardsh Scams and many other scams. But cant afford this, which is not built with your single penny. Only because of such temples new generation learn values. Where else do u and ur next gen. learn values?? From Shila or Munni ki jawani?? we can afford grand Show of IPL, Big budget cinemas....which dont inspire anything else then bad things for socity. How u can justify??

real concerns really. by same measure by cutting our discretionary expenses on watching movies or buying tech gadgets could also help in doing our bit. also a blanket ban on making movie halls, casinos, spas, clubs, golf courses etc could achieve a whole lot. unfortunately only a religion could produce a mother teresa, not an NGO

A simple langoti, 5 mugs of water per day (for washing, cleaning and drinking) and a few fruits is more than enough to survive on this planet.

Why don't you also sell your house, computer and all your property so that it can be useful to "others" and lead this "more than enough" simpleton life?

The entire economy in the world works because you and me spend on various things. This simple lifestyle related stuff cannot work. Even if you want a mug for water, that would also require an entire industry to produce plastics, chemical, etc to manufacture the mugs.

There is talk nowadays of black money outside India. One of the avenues of black money spending is cash donations to temple organisations/ religious heads/mutts. While no one doubts the motives of the faithful followers, this question does arise when such huge money is spent.
