What is "collective conscience" and how does it differ from an individual conscience? The fact is :there is no such thing as conscience required in this case investigation. A murderous attack has been made, and whoever has done it must be punished quickly. If, for that absolutely bonafide and essential reason, some suspects are arrested and interrogated, no one should object to that, nor should he be allowed to object. That is all.

the problem is corruption. most of them have joined service by paying bribes & they behave like servants of politicians & their goondas. so, they suffer from very low morale.
Certain people in the media with are trying hard over the last few years to give a life-long character certificate to these people and a bad name to the police.They have launched a sinister campaign recently which is obviously putting unreasonable pressure on the police and they are afraid to take any pre-emptive action fearing the same fate as of policemen from Gujarat (Ishrat Jahan case). All this is being done with the ultimate objective of building a case for reservation in police forces for you know whom. .

These acts will harm the mentality of the ones already dented with accusations. Mental agony of some poor continues even after law proved them innocent. I am surprised that even a doctor is harassed. Thankfully Indian law system has not degraded to the levels the police dive on a daily routine.
