Dude, NO ONE deserves to be killed for their beliefs or even actions, unless the latter fall in the 'rarest of rare cases' category in India. In the present case, prima facie, the death appears to be an accident.

I agree forcing others to NOT work (i.e. drive a bus) because you're on strike is wrong, but deserving to DIE for that is loony, more like the thoughts of a teenager playing a high octane video game.

I agree with the latter part of your post, feel sorr for the family, if there is one.

I think leaders need to choose to live like Anna Hazare (I rather like the man), no family, no house, no fancy food, no fancy drinks, no hobbies, no assets, no liabilities.

When the GOI (which is basically a bully) arrested him, they thought he would plead for mercy, but rather Anna Hazare refused to leave jail and the GOI had to plead with him to move on!

All sensible people oppose strikes
by Argumentative Indian on Feb 20, 2013 01:04 PM  | Hide replies

Only vested interests support strikes. Here are some questions.

What percentage, out of India's total population of 121 Crores is unionized?

This is just the communist fed, organized labor aristocracy trying to make their own lives more important and comfortable at the cost of others.

The whole world knows that communist governments everywhere take their governed state whether West Bengal or Kerala (whose main source of income is Gulf Money Order) or China (when it was communist) or the USSR or Cuba while the leaders themselves live good lives.

Thus the gap between the two sections of society widen.

Frequent strikes don't reduce the gap.

Anyway, why does anyone have to force other people to obey him if his / her cause is valid? Why did this union leader have to stop buses from plying? If his cause is so fantastic, let people decide if they want to support him.

When Anna Hazare, held forth against corruption, which is keeping millions of Indians in poverty, AND INCREASING PRICES AND CAUSING INFLATION, whom did he FORCE to join his movement? Large swathes of people joined in on their own.

How does a common man protest?

Strike is a legal means to protest.

Anna Hazare is a celebrity, common man does not have that status, am afraid.

earlier you raised some question -You cant even know what is organised -unorganised sector, who disburse loan to vijay malya, what is the pricing factor of labourer of a flat , who control price of a flat so how can you understand out of 121 popopulation how many workers forget about union. just chill be in your own world of CHALTAHAI MERAKYA attitude :)

PLEASE DO NOT LINK BHARATIYA MAZDOOR SANGH WITH BJP. IT WAS BMS WHICH CALLED THE THEN NDA GOVERNMENT A BUNCH OF CRIMINALS. EVEN CITU OR AITUC NEVER DARES TO CALL THEIR RESPECTIVE GOVERNMENTS IN WEST BENGAL AND KERALA IN SUCH A WAY. THE BMS PROTESTED THE MAXIMUM WHEN NDA GOVERNMENT WAS IN POWER. ALL THE POLITICAL PARTIES ARE ALILKE WHEN IT COMES TO WORKERS ISSUES, BE IT BJP, CONGRESS OR COMMUNIST. BMS IS THE ONLY TRADE UNION IN INDIA WHICH HAS NO POLITICAL AFFILIATION.
