fatwa
by crusader on Feb 06, 2013 07:18 PM  | Hide replies

On a recent trip to U.S an american commoner asked me rather crudely what the "F---" is "F---wa", these are exactly his words and I told him after correcting him it is FATWA and not what he crudely uttered. Here's my analogy /reply to him.
FATWA is a written order issued by a religious head to protect his interpretation of Islamic faith and is similar to an order/ FATWA issued by American President to drone so called enemies of state to protect his perception of democracy, from any transgressions. Both are extreme forms of implementing one's understanding of a subject on others.
Guess I was right?

There are many fatwas issued by saudi clerics which the saudi govt also nevertakes into consderation it is upto the followers to accept it not.

What Kashmiriyat? "Kashmiriyat" died the day when the Pandits were ethnic cleansed from Kashmir because of their faith. The civilized and egalitarian essence of Kashmir's Sufi Is1am has been decimated by the spread of rabid of WahabiDeobandiSalafi ideologies. Radical clerics hark back to an insular, radical and puritanical faith, disowning all KASHMIRI traditions & cultural norms that do not conform to the narrow confines of what is allowed as per Shuriya & Sunnet. The radical ulema therefore claim the divine right to regulate the social & behavioral standards acceptable as per their version of Islam and many of them want to ban music, movies, painting, sculpture, co-education, employment for girls, etc. The fatwa against the girls' rock band by the Grand Mufti is a logically expected step in this direction and the sad fact is that it has widespread support.

The cold hard fact is that Kashmir is in the grip of a WahabiDeobandiSalafi inspired Is1amist insurrection! Even the Sufis are considered heretics! Welcome to the Is1amist paradize of Kashmir.

Mufti has hidden agenda in invoking the religion.
by Mayya Suresh on Feb 06, 2013 05:40 PM  | Hide replies

Mohommad Rafi, Talat Mehmood, Ghulam Ali, Junoon, Salma Agha, Naushad, the list can go on and on...what about them? What was Mufti's problem? My gut feeling is, this is more to prevent percolation of popular Indian culture (or may be he preceivs it as cultural invasion) that could douse the flame of separatism that he wants alive and well in all current and future generation of Kashmiris.

It is an act of moral cowardice to not resist the spread of fundamentalism & puritan ideologies being propagated by the fringe elements!

True Secularism means no special privileges, no appeasement, no oppression & no discrimination on the basis of religion! The State & Religion are separate. Do we have such SECULARISM in India today?

When a OMG could be made, what is wrong in releasing Viswaroopam? Do they want all Pakis, Afghanis or Al Qaeda & Talibanis to be portrayed as saints and apostles of non-violence? Similarly a rock band of young Mus1im women poses no threat to any religion though the mullas have gone berserk over it. A fashion show or a particular apparel worn by a model cannot be a threat to Hinduism or our "moral" values. Or the world and good qualities of Indian society will not come crashing down if a woman sips a beer or goes out with a male friend or wears jeans.

And people who have funny beliefs, should not mind their beliefs being laughed at or criticized. Why do these puritans & fanatics say that their community feelings "get hurt" so easily? If u do not like a movie or television show, don't see it. If u don't like a particular type of dress, don't wear it. If u don't like rock music, don't listen to it. Simple is it not?

Indian constipation itself is NOT secular when it permits MuslimPersonalLaws. What can be expected of Indians when the Indian constipation itself is communal?

It is high time the word secular is removed from the Indian constipation and set the record straight.

A PIL has to be lodged in the SupremeCourt to knock out the word secular from the Indian constipation.

If the SupremeCourt rejects the PIL, another PIL should be lodged against the SupremeCourt itself for not following it's own tenet of SatyamevaJayate!!

Sanctimonious pr1cks blame the media for their own moral cowardice. Thank the media that the girls are safe, Else....
If the media had kept mum and those girls would have been killed by the Is1amist brothers. Just blaming the media will not do. The idiotic Mufti and all sundry clerics were already claiming that the girls performing on stage was a threat to Is1am.

Remember how the media came to the rescue of the Palghar girls who were hounded by the local police & some louts from the Sena?

Those who profess their faith most loudly and intimidate others are the biggest threat to society.

Any Religion interested only in its prestige and success, in its institutions and rituals and conformity, is worse than slavery! It is not disbelief that is dangerous to the world, it is Blind Faith!

Kashmiris are to understand whether they want to live in peace and harmoney or in isolation, none of the Indian soldier is interested to go and provide secutity, security is provided because few seperaterists does not maintain peace and harmoney else only Kashmiri Police Force is enough except borders.
