Most of then awards given in the last decade are bogus and meant for only influential people who manipulate selections. All these film fellows/politicians, stooges of influential politicians are out for making money and not service. prof CNR RAO AND ABDUL KALAM ARE THE ONLY PERSONS WHO DESERVE THESE AWARDS . IT IS REALLY MOST DISGUSTING TO SEE NOTORIUS THIEVES OF STEALING AWARDS.
If using 'Padma Shri' is not allowed by AP High Court by the recipients, I am curious to know if same norm applies to using the honorific 'Bharat Ratna' as well?
These awards are bestowed by the Govt of India and I'd have thought only the Govt of India has the right to ask them to be returned (if they have been misused).
How do courts enter the picture? How can courts ask them to return the National Honours? Maybe the people who objected to the (mis)usage need to petition the Govt of India.

In India Govt does not do these things on their own. They will always be found sleeping when needed. It is the court that has been waking them from time to time now. So this time also it is happening thru' court. If you have a strict followup within the govt on how awards are being used, why should court intervene. We have had cases of sports winners selling their medals for survival. That shows how much our govt care about past winners.
The awardees in India like to publicise. Honorary doctorates are not supposed to be listed after the name or should be mentioned only as 'honoraria causa'. This rule is often violated. I have seen the letter head of an eminent musician who mentions all the honours bestowed on him, including Padma Shri, presentation of shawls and anklets and being taken in a procession atop an elephant!
Why do you give such high profile awards to the south Indian actors who do not contribute to anything. No one except south Indian watch their movies. Only bollywood stars deserve such awards as they are the Indian brand ambassadors to the world

By your logic who should get the award in case of a Hindi remake of a South Indian picture? The actor in the original or the remake?

dishonesty, corruption in blood of we indians. we fight each other in the name of religion, caste, region, language, gender. No anna, no modi, no kerjwal can change india unless we corrupt indians change ourselves.
When rival heroes N.T.Ramarao and A.Nageswararao were both awarded Padma Shri, the film publicity posters a used to have the honour as a prefix to both the names. The joke in those days was about a rural film goer who had wondered about the actress Padma Shri who was acting with both the heroes!
