they are not bothered about womems rights ... to have cavity search for a charge of low payment! was it not an ill treatment of a lady?
For them only Americans (and whites) are humans!

Hypocracy is thy name america

just tell why did america put so much pressure on pakistan to get Raymond Davies released when he had shot and killed two pakistani's. he should have been allowed to face trial in the court. our diplomat's action is not so sever as the american's. i hope, why double standards from American media always.

Indian over reaction ?
by JOSEPH THOMAS on Dec 23, 2013 09:54 PM

Just reverse the situation. Suppose India had arrested a female US diplomat for an alleged violation of Indian law and strip searched her, how would the US media have reacted ?

Election Year
by savanth u on Dec 23, 2013 10:28 AM

US didn't realize that it is election time here. That too with Cong on the back foot, anything would be done to get the attention back. Otherwise why would the Cong show this new-found aggression. Cong back to active mode from the earlier Manmohan mode (mute).

your father seems to be more intelligent then -rahul most of the time.he appears reasonable solid on tv.needs to be slightly more rational though .he should play that wote-bank card passively. he appears to be the tejas fighter of some sections of Indian society,- a very large chunk.of course that one issue needs to be reversed.only a powerful person which i guess your pap is could have build an immovability on that piece of land.there is that 1 percent of over-ambitious indians americans witch has shares with google or wanting to become the new york governor sheriff-the rest are watching rightly-the other way.

A criminal is a criminal who ever it may be.One has to respect the law of the land where he is.Justice should be with the one who is affected.Indians must understand the fact.Vote bank politics won't work out in U S.

If somebody has committed a crime, law should take its course of action, but it is the question of big brother attitude of USA. How it can decide and comment on the indian judicial system and dare to evacuate an entire family for protecting their human rights. Human right violation of USA is an open secret for entire world, whether it is Vietnam or Iraq or any wherelse.USA media require to introspect and let them correct themselves first.

It is not such a crime, to make the indian diplomat to be treated as a criminal and subjected her to cavity test,This highly condemed act,she could have been simply deported as she has diplomatic immunity. The American condulates are emplying indian servants at a very cheap wage s.

Apologies for our biased US media!
by Carlos Dominguez on Dec 22, 2013 09:28 PM  | Hide replies

As a USArmy veteran of non-white origin, i am not surprised that our media is outraged by India's reaction, but not the horrendous treatment of your woman Consul. Our white contractors & businesses employ millions of undocumented aliens here without paying minimum wages, and none of them are arrested and cavity-searched! I am glad that your government has reacted finally! You should permanently withdraw full diplomatic status given to US Consular officials & give them limited immunity as we do to foreign Consular officials. However, I do feel that the US should apologize, India should withdraw this woman Consul and prosecute her in India for her perjury. Also, India should insist on US Schools & Companies pay the same wages to Indian employees, the same wages they pay US citizens working in US establishments in India. I want to apologize for the shameful manner in which we treated your former President at our airports while our junior diplomats are treated like European Royalty in your country!

India should inquire first about the role of Devyanis father Uttam khobragade as Ex General manager of BEST in alloting land for controversial Adarsh Society in Mumbai. How Devyani got an allotment in Adarsh society eventhough she was already having six more properties and got an allotment in Adarsh Society ion the basis of false declaration. Congress will not be interested in probing the matter as lot of their own politicians are involved. Salman Khurshid has said he will not enter in parliament till US govt apologise but US govt is on firm on their stand and there is no alternative for Salman Khurshid to eat his own words and attend parliament . Indian governement should not have taken such stand in haste to spoil relation with US without realising that Devyani must have done something wrong as Iin US , authorities dont care for politicians and diplomats unlike India and they give equal treatment to all the offfenders. It is not worth fighting and spoiling relations with US for the people like Uttam and Devyani Khobragade.Instead of sending Devyani to UN she should be recalled to India for facing an inquiry about her allotment in Adarsh first.

India's so called over reaction
by shailesh vaidya on Dec 22, 2013 06:02 PM  | Hide replies

American Media is saying that India had over reacted. In fact, US has over acted while arresting a diplomat. The US media is talking about reaction but they forget that reaction is the result of ACTION. If it is an over reaction then there must be an over action from US side. They are perpetually ignoring this fact.

Shailesh !!! Your views about Indian Bureaucrats are misplaced . This is a breed which has been endorsed to loot the country and take all possible benefits out of it .These guys have even maligned the entire UPSC selection process to the extent that their incompetent children get selected in such aristocratic services and the tradition carries on . Their is nothing like an upright Bureaucrat in this country even if media projects one to be .

Thanks for clarifying that your Foreign. Service is meant only for your "aristocratic" class! And, this woman diplomat does not meet with your approval since she was born in an inferior "class" than yours!
No doubt in my mind, that she is dishonest, and thus deserves to be called back by India and punished for her dishonest dealings. But, it is unpardonable for my country (US) to be hypocritical in harshly dealing with diplomats from non- white countries while they dare not lay a hand on any white or Chinese diplomat even if they are of only Consular staff devoid of full diplomatic immunity.
