Really sorry state of affairs
by Sudheer on Jan 09, 2014 03:57 PM

This is a really sad state of affairs. My rant is more on the apathetic attitude of the govt. organizations involved. I do not understand the delay in grant of fellowship money by UGC. If UGC can not give the money on time, why give out fellowship in the first place. I have observed myself a delay of months in sanctioning money by govt. organizations. This demotivates students from taking up research in this country. We need a big overhaul in the way govt. funds research in the country.

The manner in which the University administration has behaved is to be condemned. I hope the authorities at UGC take notice of such behaviour and take necessary actions.

This University is one of the best Universities in the country. Of late, this University is facing lot of problems. One thing I want to make it clear, if SFI is involved, they will spoil the academic atmosphere, as one can see the fates of Educational Institution in West Bengal, which were once ruled by SFI. As far as scholarship is concerned, the affected students can put up an RTI Petition to Ministry of Human Resource Development asking for the status of Scholarships. This process I have adopted for some of my friends and met with success

University turmoil issue
by Ramanarao Kallepally on Dec 12, 2013 09:00 AM

This is very shameful on the part of the UGC in center not to take any care for taking up the renovation work of such universities in India. The fate of such universities may take the lives of human beings if a small magnitude earthquake occurs in that region. Therefore, the Tamil Nadu state government authorities should bring this important matter in the knowledge of P.C. Chako or P.Chkidambaram or someone else to take utmost care in the interest of the people of that region and in the interest of the students of that particular university.

Is it a university or primary school.
Students please invite some JNU jholas to give you a session on protest tactics.

I feel students in this university are too meek.
