Why are Maha Govt, Katju, other elite politicians and
celebrities are soft on these convict. TADA court and SC have examined all the evidences and finally sentenced them with a minimum punishment.

They seem to have no respects for 250 people who died in 1993 serial bombings, hundreds of children lost their fathers and their future doomed. due to the Mumbai blasts yet there are those who continue to bat for them.

"Before the law, everybody is same and equal. Be it a minister, farmer or labourer, the law should be applicable to all, By putting them in jail, you send out a strong signal that, no one is above the law and think before you take risk.

It is necessary to amend the rules and prescribe that the time spent out of jail on parole should be added to the sentence of jail.

I stand with your views. Its justified. Jail term is not an employment where you are entitled for Casual, Earned, Medical and Maternity leave, every year. Parol can be given to a convict only on extraordinary circumstances like visiting the parents, wife and children if they are admitted to hospitals and are in precarious conditions and for performing the final rites. All this under the noose of police surveillance.

The current parol granted to this scoundrel is mockery of judiciary. The SC should take cognizance of this undue favor and reprimand the state government and the official involved should be dismissed from service and sent to jail and all benefits forfeited.
There should be public outcry and show of strength on road. When Mandella was jailed for 27 years, I am sure, he never came out on Parole. He was jailed for his just cause. But this scoundrel was convicted for possession of illegal arms, destruction of evidence and continue to have connection with underworld dons in Pakistan. Infact, as a citizen of this country, The SC has erred in their judgement under Point 17 that, he possessed the arms for self defense, which cannot be accepted. I am sure, no one keeps a AK-56 rifle for self defense and that too without the licence and permission of local police. But this can happen only and only in India.

Balan, you have no right to abuse the fans of sanjay dutt. He is the only natural actor of bollywood at present and there are many more esteemed corrupt people in our country who needs to be critisized. As far as Sanju baba is concerned its true that he has done mistakes and has paid for it but he is a fighter and has fought against all odds in his life. So pls dont target him just because he is a celebrity. He has always accepted in public that he has done mistakes but this media trial and public trial only shows the narrow mindedness of our society. Long live Sanju baba. GOD BLESS HIM !!!

You have proved right what I have written with your comments.
I had written a factual reply to your comment which, as usual, not followed by Rediff Moderator, who is still studying it and then might get published. If yes, read it and give your reply.

You may think so but it this shows his potential as an actor and his persona that he makes even the character of Tapori look stylish and appealing to the audience.

the maya budget is totally out of control. the deficits are hyperbolically going up. the moviedom people are being given all sortsa exemptions from taxes although there is no need for it. there is too much sweetheart stuff going on between the polticians and the make-believe people who are hyped up as actors and entertainers.

Insensitive media
by anwarhatela on Dec 08, 2013 12:08 AM  | Hide replies

Media has been targeting Sanjay Dutt ever since he has been sentenced to 5 year imprisonment. These media people are selfish and they have no moral or social ethics. They just believe in cooking up spicy news for TRPs. When Sanjay Dutt was on top and giving hit films like Munnabhai they were praising and chasing him for interviews and now when he is sentenced they are hosting debates to defame him and comparing him with common citizens who are jailed for similar crime. It is the height of insensitivity and irresponsible behaviour by media that they are still criticising Sanjay Dutt when a doctor has confirmed that his wife has a tumor in her liver. Sanjay Dutt is not only a great actor but he is also a man of steel who has fought against all odds in his life. He has done mistakes in his life and has paid for it but he should not be targeted just because he is rich and successful. Long live Sanju Baba !!

It is the fault of law and not sanjay dutt if poors are not getting their due. Also everyone is discussing this issue only because it is involving sanjay dutt who is a star. Had it been a normal citizen neither media and nor you would have been discussing this issue. So first introspect yourself that what have you done for the country or for the benefit of a poor man rather than criticising and targeting a celebrity just because he is a soft target

If it would have been a normal person, that person would either would have been sentenced to death or life imprisonment. More so, he cannot dream of Parole, leave alone applying for it. Further, Retired Judge of SC Markendeya, would not have voiced his concern for him as well the whole lot of congress scoundrels. I fail to understand as to what these scoundrels will benefit if Sanjay is pardoned.

I do agree with your opinion balan that law is not equal for everyone in our country but think logically for a moment that why would Sanjay who was a superstar during 1993 indulge in an anti national activity. It is true that him and other actors had underworld connections but that doesnt mean that he had any role in blasts. He did an act of foolishness by acquiring those weapons but his justification seems quite reasonable that he did it for self defence as his family was facing death threats from extremists as Sunil dutt had given shelter to thousands of muslims who were victims of the previous blasts. Yes he did a big mistake but law and order was completely out of place in mumbai in those times. So while I agree with you that law is tilted towards rich in our country but on the flip side Sanjay Dutt has also paid the price of being the son of a genuine social worker actor and being a Superstar himself.

I am sorry to correct you here. He was never a super star at any time leave alone 1993. At that time, he was a rehabilitated drug abuser. Tell me honestly, at the time of crime, he was aged 33. Was he not aware of good and bad. Then, the gun was not purchased by him, but was given to him to be kept. If he had purchased, from where and how? Any proof of having purchased it legally? I am sure, there is no answer to any of my queries above. It was just a cover up to save the face and grace of his father Sunil Dutt.

Balan, I think u need to check the facts. Sanjay Dutt was indeed the Super star in early 90's. He has given super hit films like Saajan, Sadak, Khalnayak and other films during that era. In fact had Sanjay Dutt not gone to Jail you would not have heard the name of Superstar named shahrukh khan. Sanjay Dutt has maintained his stardom despite his turbulent personal life and shown lot of substance as an actor. I am not supporting his mistakes he has done mistakes and has paid for the same heavily. He has openly told media that he is a shattered man after facing 20 years of humiliation and media trial. But i find it really insensitive on people like you and media's part that instead of showing some sympathy on a person who has gone through so much in his life you guys are desperate to destroy him by your remarks. Pls tell me is there any person in this world who has not done any mistake. CAN YOU CLAIM IN PUBLIC THAT YOU HAVE LED AN FLAW LESS LIFE ??
