Jim Corbett was the annihilator of the most loved animal and the fastest one on earth the Cheetah. When he brought the species to extinction he felt remorse and tried to reverse the collapse but failed miserably. I feel so bad when he is honored for his fallacy by the ignorant. Read his books to know the truth.

Humans will eventually destroy all wildlife on the planet. It is impossible to sustain ever increasing human population. A day will come when we will not hear the birds, the cry of wolves, the growl of tigers. We worship Lord ganesh, but the elephants are driven out of their habitat.
I think the comments about Jim corbett are very misinformed. I think she should actually check all the accounts and his hunts to see how much efforts and pains he used to take to confirm the identity of the man-eater before killing it. It will also become clear that whenever jim Corbett killed a man-eater the man-eating got stopped in that area...atleast from the same beast.
All this talk of preservation is good and Jim Corbett championed it...It was due to his efforts that a major portion of flora and fauna is still preserved in Uttarakhand...
The point is to balance between preservation and protection of humans from potential killers. We cant be blind and embrace every beast that has potential to look at us as lunch and dinner.

Another important point is if you dont kill a man-eater and allow it to kill humans...then the humans in revenge will kill far more numbers of innocent and normal man-eaters...
