When I read and hear such stories I feel ashamed to be an Indian. We have to look for reasons for such behaviour. Law can help to some extent only

Classify Rape
by Indian Guru on Dec 16, 2013 07:26 PM

If a Rapist belongs to an upward mobile and educated family, the offence is of the first order and should be punished with strictest measures.

If the Rapist comes from a poor back ground more investigation should be done for the cause of the rape.

If person is proven psychopath then punishment should be given of the highest order, else a proper socio and behaviour analysis needs to be conducted and then the punishment decided.

Civil / Educated society creating the menace
by Indian Guru on Dec 16, 2013 07:13 PM

There is no point punishing the culprit either. Even though it is very difficult to accept, person or family traumatized will seek death penalty.

Social Organizations and governments needs to conduct more research in this area as to why such things are increasing?

There is one section of the society politicians, businessmen, white collar bureaucrats, professionals etc.. etc.. which lives an extravagant lifestyle and indulges in all and sundry fancies and lives life of luxury.

There is other section of majority India, which still can't earn two square meals a day
are employed mostly as skilled labours in unorganized sector. Basic middle class fantasy can be a life time earning for them.

They cannot vent their frustration, neither extreme hard work can pull they out of poverty or is their any source of government backup.

They cannot get education and even if they get through quota, they may not carry the attitude or confidence of the children from a descent up bringing.

This frustration is directly vented in the form of Rapes, Arson, Murder, Loot and what best than to target a growing middle class family, foreign travellers, unaccompanied woman as they are the weaklings who travel by public transports, autos or by walk. In effect they are punishing their future as these people are the next middle class.

Social Organizations and Government machinery need to get their act right to remove the malaise of Rape.

Indian Society

I have no words what to say. I don't want to believe this what is happening around unless it hearts directly to me.
I think this all happening due to ignorance of a society who just close his eyes when something bad happens. Recent time we as a society shown some resilience as a mob but it needs to be done on individual basis.
Things are getting bad to worse and we find some lame excuse that movies, T.V,Internets are changing our life. Yes this is true but most of the time it is positive change. In my opinion human has no values in India. We don't treat our own people as they need to be treated. It's nothing with poverty or education or background of an individual, we need to learn once again how to accommodate others? how to give a breathing space others? How to give respect others as human begin not as per their profession, personality, dressings, cast, color, region, gender, language or money?
This only can happen with good parenting, sensitive governance and active social engagement among people. We should change the philosophy of current life style we are chasing for. I feel ashamed when hear something happened my mother country.

Indian culture vs waestern culture

We Indians think we are from a most cultured civilizations in the world and always condemn the west. But we never realize that we are from a De-civilizing society. Of course our ancestor were highly civilized and lead a noble life. Now we are trying live behind their label. We never tried to understand the teachings of our ancestors, We always try to misinterpret every scripture to justify our own actions.
West is a civilizing society now. In a way they are more religious than us. Human rights movements,Animal rights movements, Equal rights, blue cross, save animals against cruelty. All these organizations are moving towards higher human civilization.
In India, We are the ones who gave most of the today's religions to the world.
Unfortunately ,we are behaving like barbarians in our own country. Almost 90% of the politicians and religious leaders are corrupted and misleading the society.
Need of the hour is a well disciplined dictator for our country.

Caste hierarchy has been the bane of the Indian society, it has created discrimination, hatred and all social ills and evils..

The Jupiter escape velocity theory holds true in all aspects but how many can escape the escape velocity. Instead it has boomeranged inwards in the form of Rape.

It is a shameful incident for all Indians. But every time a rape is committed we never fail to take pride in saying that it is the fault of the victim. Even our great saint ASARAM BAPU preached the same, including many prominent personalities including men & women.
My view point is that " we are the sick people of India, who believe that our practicing culture and religion gave male folk the opportunity to behave in a beastly manner with our female counterpart. Even we justify our wrong doings by citing our sacred texts and guidance of our gurus.

are you indicating that depravation of our society became obvious with the promotion of low caste fellows, even in niche areas such as spirituality - example of asaram bapu (a low caste preacher) and nithyananda (another low caste sadhu) come to mind?

Our ancestors did warn us

Our ancestors advised us to conquer KAMA and Moha among the six enemies within us. But today we do not respect Indian Wisdom. We try to follow the West. But we fail to follow the West in respect of individual freedom. If we follow Culture of our country, then I think we can avoid such incidents.
