Muslim Brotherhood stand can only be justified….

If the Military was getting rid of Democracy all together, but if free and fair election happens shortly and power is returned to elected Government, then I don’t think democracy has been overthrown, in certain hard circumstances Mid-term polls do happen in Democracy.

Genuine leaders would have thought about best interest of society first, they would have clarified role of Military in civilian affairs and then gone for seeking fresh mandate from public.

If people are alive and like your leadership, they might vote for you again and again, but if people die in unrest they are not going to come back from dead. So, Why create a deadly situation, which can be easily avoided ?

Anyway I am banking on Military Generals that they have accessed the situation properly and know, what they are doing ? They have seen fate of Mr. Mubark and they know worse might happen with them, so loosing is not an option!

They need to keep their troops and public motivated by making it clear to them, Why this fight is worth fighting?

If you Win, you will have right to freedom of thought and expression, because under brotherhood only choice would be to bend over all day and wait to die in path of their religious ideology.

They fail to gain power by deception, so now they are offering a deal, either surrender to us peacefully and politely or we will make you surrender by terrorising and killing you.

But you can go for another option, Fight for your Freedom, their is chance you might Win!

difficult times

The transition from dictatorship has proved to be very painful for Egyptians. It's different issue that their pain is acting like a soothing balm for hate-preachers across the globe, in general and india in particular.
Immediate step for the army and brotherhood should be shun violence and sit for negotiations. They should keep the nation above their respective demand of more political space.

So much for Arab Spring!
by Neeta S on Aug 16, 2013 04:03 PM  | Hide replies

Even when this Arab Spring was touted as the next big thing, sensible people world over knew it wd end up in civil war as bad as this. Democracy is not just a word, its a thinking that certain kinds of people can never understand or sincerely adhere to because it is essentially non-religious and they all take their religion too seriously.

Dear Neeta! Seriously, people should stop taking this fake moral-high ground approach. Democracy is not a panacea; even it has got its own problems - country to country.
And stop making hypocratic statements like 'non-religious - as only the other day your guru took the name of his religion before the nation!
Cheers
