Mafia menace
by thyagathur chandrashekar on Aug 02, 2013 12:53 PM

This is operated by goons and local business communities with strong back support of politicians/officials and local law makers. Only in few instances, the sincere officers make efforts to control/curb mafia activities.
However UP, Bihar, Haryana and Jarkhand is famous for many types of mafia activities - courtesy congress and other rulers.Something similar to Kadarnath type calamity shall happen to washaway the corrupt politicians - businessmen- corrupt officials gang.

I think the Chief Minister himself is involved in the sand mafia otherwise why should he suspend the IAS officer. Shame for the CM. Incredible India any thing can happen in India

The son does not seem to be any better than the father.
When Winter comes can summer be far behind ? Where loot occurs can the presence of politician be far behind?

Sand Mafia in MP
by ashish g on Aug 02, 2013 12:45 PM

The presence of sand Mafia is not new. River Narmada crosses through MP and across the state, there will be unmanned movement of SAND from Narmada River. If one goes to interiors of Maheshwar/ Omkareshwar/ Harda, one will discover 100's of Trucks of Sand being moved without any Control. All being part of Mafia.

SP care two hoots for rule of law and SC!
by Balwinder Kang on Aug 02, 2013 12:44 PM  | Hide replies

The Supreme Court had ruled [State of Orissa Vs. Bimal Kumar Mohanty, 1994 4 SCC 126; 1994 CLR 615 (SC)] that it will not be an administrative routine or an automatic order to suspend an employee. The interim suspension is affected as a measure of ‘procedural convenience’ to hold an enquiry against the delinquent employee. Was Ms Nagpal delinquent in upholding SC directions [Jan 15, 2013] on shrines? However, SP does not care for procedures of governance, rule of law, SC directions, leave aside public opinion ……. Its ethos is irrevocably clothed in immorality of rampant hooliganism, from top to grass-roots!

The U.P. has a distinction to be a notorious place. Unsafe for honest and strait forward persons and paradise for goons. The officer concerned is unfortunately paying the price for being honest and work to her duty.
This is the tragedy of not only U.P. but applies to the whole of the country, difference may be degree only. Mr. Azam Khan has rightly said "“Ram Raj mein loot machi hai, loot sake to loot."

Let more join.Let this be the death knell of the SP Govt. Let us show our anger against SP first in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, taking care to see that the benefit does not accrue to BSP or the Congress.

The wall had a plaque saying Narendra Singh Bhati, the local MLA and minister in the UP government, had laid the foundation stone of the mosque. Nobody even knew it was a mosque, it was just a wall. Nagpal told residents that it was illegal to build a structure on government land, and it was demolished by residents voluntarily.
Now suspension order to me is clear that it is political and sheer political to even the score with a junior IAS lady officer but courageous and sincere to Law that she enraged the local leader Bhati by sending many Sand Mafia to Jail for illegal mining of Yamuna banks.

HONEST AND SINCERE PEOPLE CANNOT WORK WITH UNSCRUPULOUS POLITICIANS. IAS OFFICERS SHOULD BE GIVEN POWERS. WHY NOT THE GOVT. TAKE ACTION ON SAND MAFIA INSTEAD OF IAS OFFICER. FIRST PUT THE SAND MAFIA TEAM IN TO JAIL.
