My advice to him is make an FD with any reputed bank like SBI, HDFC, ICICI and also charge them endorsement fee. any bank would give him extra 3-4% interest over a 5 year period to use his name.

Then he would pay plenty of IT on the interest. Better put in a safe mutual fund scheme (such schemes exist but the yields are relatively low).
I m more happier that nice person like him won 5 crore.I watched the programmed throughly and truly he deserved for that and that was his show without any doubt.
The man living in rented house, got prize money only 3 crores. He will spend 50 lacs for home. His house members are 14. He will have hardly little scope of long term investments.
