by kallol paul on Apr 08, 2013 04:02 PM

the bigger question is what will u do after winning the elections!

The biggest thing to notice is what you have done with the power and position you have been given so far!

Elections
by arvind kayan on Apr 07, 2013 08:09 PM

Much of the crisis is due to the political situation. CWG scam, 2G, 3G, Iron Ore, coal, chopper, murders, blackmails, corruption etc have deprived the Govt. from functioning. They have no answers or solutions except an JPC inquiry or CBI or an inquiry under the Honorable Supreme Court.
The intentions are clearly, NOT to resolve the issue. What we really need is a good leadership and a overhaul of our system. To begin with, the election commission should be empowered to reject the candidature of anyone who is having any case under CRPC pending against him/her. Govt. officers also should be treated at par in case of any such allegations.
Modi, is a fitting candidate, but the question is, will he be allowed to perform? The plank of communalism, which divided India once is still the pet theme of the politicians, and we Indians are still playing their game.
Regional parties will definitely have a say in the national politics in future, so why is it that the Central Govt. is unable to draft a better Federal form of the Govt?
Why MNREGA and other such schemes are still continued with such vigor when we all are aware that the funds are being misused?
Why is the Govt silent on the Black money issue and states that a report will be tabled in spite of the fact that they are practically doing nothing?
Why are the prime bureaucratic posts not covered by a democratic process and done on the behest of the Govt?
India attained freedom but democracy is still in its infancy
& our politici

It is freebies and illiterates that decide who should govern!!
by Laughing Buddha on Apr 07, 2013 06:59 AM  | Hide replies

What we are discussing here is read only by a very few percentage of people. Ruling govt. has strategists behind it to roll out freebies and garner votes from poor public, who are illiterate or gets fooled by the freebies. There is a scheme waiting from the Central Govt. to roll out free mobile phones just few months before election. If that is rolled out, all the contents in this page would be ineffective. Like that, there would be a score of such freebies that can be introduced with the ill-gotten money in the past 2 terms. How can this be stopped?
When Lallu was Railway Minister, he said Rs.1,25,000 crores of money is generated out of effective management. Where is that money? So, why he should be allowed to ask for money from Finance Dept. when his ministry itself had so much money? What was the PM doing at that time and now when they contradict themselves? Where is governance here?
We can ask 1000 questions like this. But, for every vote of an educated person AGAINST cong., there would be 10 illiterates voting FOR Cong. and finally, it is the 'number' that counts..!!!
