Lessons from Karnataka and Maharashtra

On Sept 19th 1948 Police Action ended in Hyderabad and Indian Govt. annexed Nizam's Hyderabad. The 7th Nizam fled to Pakistan and later settled in Australia and eventually died there. Sept 19th was regarded as Liberation Day for Nizam' Hyderabad Dominion and used to be marked and celebrated as Liberation Day from 1948 to 1956

After 1956 states reorganization, 3 districts from erstwhile Nizam's Hyderabad got added to Karnataka. Now these 3 districts are further divided into 5 districts. Add Bellary to it and the 6 districts are usually referred to as Hyderabad Karnataka.

Similar story with 4 districts that were added to Maharashtra in 1956. These are referred to as Maratwada districts.

In 1956 Karnataka Govt. and Maharashtra adopted Sept 19th as Liberation Day for their respective new additions and is celebrated with respect every year. The reason this is important is because lakhs of people including elders, women and children sacrificed lives to achieve Liberation Day. This is just a matter of Respect to the Struggle under Nizam's rule.

Further to this in 1973, Karnataka changed its name from Mysore to Karnataka so that the newly added districts will not feel the monopoly of Mysore since Mysore existed for 3 hundred years as separate Dominion. This was done to make everyone feel at home under the name of Karnataka.

Similar request was made by Telangana people to Andhra Govt. to name the State as Telugu Nadu and adopt Sept 19th Day. They refused to do it in 1956.

The three kannada districts Nizam Hyd state added to then Mysore state in 1956, then why Mysore state was renamed Karnataka only in 1973. Karnataka is the land of the Kannadigas, Tuluvas, Konkanis and Kodavas. So what about tuluvas, konkanis and kodavas in Karnataka, wouldn't they feel alienated?
Moreover, I don't see any telugu objecting renaming of AP to telugunadu.

What about the five (not four) marathi speaking districts of Nizam Hyd state that were merged with then Bombay state, were they feeling bad for calling then Bombay state Maharashtra rather than marathi rajya or marthwada rajya?
Is the glass half full or half empty? I think it is half full (optimism) whereas you think it is half empty (pessimism).

One of the important things NTR proposed in power is to rename AP as Telugu Nadu. But,didn't workout. Andhra is the name of Telangana people. Andhra word is 3000 years old, but Telangana word is 150 years old. Can't you see the name of your own ancestors and you want it to be removed? thala lo matto unda ?

division is not possible

several crores are being spent by TRS for this march. TRs is funding all the student JACs, employees unions, lawyers union etc. The student leaders get huge monthly salaries. Kodanda ram got lot of financial benifits compared to what he would have got besides some political career after his proposed retirement shortly. The Channel TVs are also being given lot of money through fake advertisements.
All these rallies have no meaning because over 90% of all telugu population in india is against dividing the state. Only outsiders belonging to hyd-karnatak and marathwada besides few north indian settlers of earst while nizam era in collusion with soem jathi drohies are behind this agitation and marches.

It is enough if telugus keep united in their sted fast opposition to deviding their great linguistic state obtained after several sacrifices spread over one hudread years.

We will never allow division of the state come what may. we dont mind bringing down the central government in parliament by forcing our MPs to withdraw support if high command acts against samaikhya rastram

It would be better if the country is divided on caste basis so that those who are propagating for a higher quota can have a separate country where all the jobs can be given to their caste people and it can become another Uganda or Greece.
