Making a mercy petition is his right, within International criminal law. How long the decision takes is upon the president, knowing India his petition file is already laying in some corner gathering dust.

Now the case is over. The current President will complete his term and Kasab will enjoy his biryanis in jail.
since he fought and killed hundreds of innocent people in the name of islam, pardon him only if he renounces islam and acknowledges and condemns the voilent nature of islam. Otherwise torture him till the end.
please relase kasab and send him to pakistan because the new visa regime we will have more kasabs in india . it is better we escort him to his home town.
president will keep this mercy petition issue pending till the next president election & meanwhile our (congress or any) govt. will give him "bharatratna">> W:::A>wa>WA" MERA BHARAT MAHAN"
