We as Secular Nation need not highlight if the Merits get the jobs trresctive of the Caste/Religion etc .On the contrary ,we should wish that such acts are multiplied every day soi that slowly the Curse of Casteism /minority/majority etc are faded into past.How sonn ,new CJI can help this happen is to be seen. Justice for 1984 sikh riots needs his attention if delivery of Justice per se is his passion.Hope this heppens since many Judges are willing to side the Government evn when unfair treatment is meted out to a community.Hope this does not happen .
Idris Latif was chief of IAF. Hopefully our neighbors and estranged brothers will realize that merit should be the basis for career advancement and nation will flourish.
the judge kabir was born in 1940 in kolkatta, and became a judge in 1990. thanks, rediff for a great resume for kabit. did he throw rocks in communist_hartals in the intervening time? he is about to be cji, for sake of - heck whatever turns rediff on.

Hawala Guy, I too had the same feeling which you had.
But let us wait and see. Who knows, he might be a nationalist Muslim like late Justice Mohammed Currim Chagla or Dr.APJ Kalam. Let us hope for the best.
