Amritsar versus Lahore
by Siddhartha Sanghi on Oct 25, 2012 08:39 PM  | Hide replies

With the kind of cultural heritage that both the cities share, I wish that the governments would have done something to insure the tradition, which is sadly lost now. Amritsar is undoubtedly one of the most cultured cities of India, but it still has a missing eye which is in Lahore. I'm sure that Lahore must be feeling the same way.

saif ali khan converts a Kapoor girl and marries her and claims to be secular. a wedding of a middle aged fanatic watched by the elite and applauded. Love Jihad is eating up India slowely. Bollywood is now run by Dawood mafia.

Will take decades before the cross border movements become normal
by rohit Nagpal on Oct 25, 2012 08:27 PM  | Hide replies

The writer was impressive in giving the details....I feel it will take a few decades and India Pakistan movement will be as in European countries...these countries have fought numerous wars and today borders are open and one can take a train/car/bus to other cities/countries.

I agree with Sam Nath. The country that is made for Muzlim is already in soup. Now they want to make India also a soup with the help of commies and psec people

what Lost ?
by Ashish Sharma on Oct 25, 2012 07:59 PM

It's not just the piece of land, but also a culture that's lost with partition. As mentioned in the article lahor has lost its " ... its multi-cultural, multi-religious and multi-lingual ethos".

The only permanent thing is change, and as the Earth is round the two cities of Amritsar and Lahore will again come back in contact to each other as they were in pre-partition days. The story of Our lives are stranger than fiction

Very very touching
by RanjanKumar DasMohapatra on Oct 25, 2012 05:40 PM  | Hide replies

I am neither a Sikh nor a Muslim but I am really touched by the effects of separation of Amritsar and Lahore. But a damage done is done. It is not possible at this juncture to reverse the effects. Can we? Rather, both the Govts. should try earnestly to lessen the differences.
