Air India is to be blamed
by Juan DeCunha on Oct 21, 2012 09:04 AM  | Hide replies

Air India is to be blamed for this drama. This happened due to their mismanagement and pathetic service. What is the need for this illiterate/uneducated pilot to press "Hijack" button? This proved that she is incompetent. I heard, this female Pilot is saying, as her shift time is over and hence she could not flight. Then what would she do if her shift time ends when the plane is in the middle-of-the-air? Would she jump from the plane? Civil Aviation Ministry should cancel her pilot button immediately.

Air India is notorious for their worst service and indifferent attitude. Their employees used to do strike for silly and trivial matters. The recent strike of Pilots is a classic example. In India, only Air India and Air India Express doing all these drama, not other airlines. It is better for South Indians to boycott this airline. All six South Indian states (Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Goa) Andaman & Nicobar lakshadweep need to start their own airlines. Kerala is already starting Air Kerala.

As Civil Aviation Minister is a North Indian, he is supporting fellow North Indian Pilot against South Indian Passengers. This is nothing but Racism and Discrimination.

I congratulate these Kerala-based passengers for this protest, as they are fully aware of their RIGHTS and the value of their hard-earned MONEY

Pilot could instruct Cabin Crews to do the following:

1. Provide Proper Information regarding Delay or Change in the Schedule

2. Switch-on the A/C inside as more than 200 passengers are suffocating inside the congested plane

3. Provide sufficient Food and Water. More than 200 passengers including pregnant women, children and babies were starving for more than 12 hours

4. Arrange another connection flight from TVM-Kochi instead of asking them to go to KSRTC Bus on their own expense. Remember, the passengers booked airticket from Abu Dhabi to Kochi and Air India is responsible to take passengers till the destination (Kochi). Passengers payed for Air Ticket, not for TVM-Kochi Bus Ticket.

5. Avoid telling passengers to drink urine when they asked for drinking water. This is the worst attittud eof Pilot, Cabin Crew and some officials of Air India

6. Provide accommodation in 3-Star or 5-Star hotel in TVM till the Connection Flight depart. Any other Airline Company would do this.

7. Air India also need to remember that they are surviving due to another scam by UPA-II Govt, by diverting Rs. 30,000 Cr from tax-payer's money to Air India. Hence AI officials are answerable to all the Indian Citizens.

All other Airline companies would do these except Air India. It's high time to ban Air India from Kerala. At least we passengers should start boycott this White Elephant. Kerala Govt need to expedite the establishment of Air Kerala.

Air India is owned by the government. That means the people of India are the majority shareholders. The pilots and staff should learn how to speak to the owners of the airline. The staff should be immediately suspended for boorish behavior.

What do you expect from us!!

I was in the flight.. so the first person details are more important. The flight was to reach Kochi, but the so called 'non visibility' was not there. It was drizzling. But not so badly. All of a sudden announcement came as it is being diverted to Thiruvanthapuram. When asked for reason, they cooly said.. no visibility. If Kochi has no visibility, there is possibility of 'zero' visibility at Thiruvanthapuram. It was spontaneous.. delay no explained will anyone out of mind.. this is truly ridiculous... the way we were treated, was worst. Even Bombay subarban train passengers are informed very politely about delays.. these guys... they act as if they are not anserable to anyone.

We have long stopped travelling by AI. I remember travelling with my 9 months old son. The flight was supposed to leave at 10:30pm, but left at 7:00 in the morning. No apologies, nothing. We missed our connecting flight. It was a nightmare carring my child for around 18 odd hours. Imagine. I swore never ever to travel by that airline anywhere. Spend a few bucks extra and go for any other airline. Airarabia being the bestest best. U dont feel the landing, nor the children are disturbed with the takeoff. AI if they allow me to travel free also I would not.

I totally sympathize with the passengers. The National Carriers have been behaving so badly in the past as they are now. But any passenger who claim that the there was no visibility issue while sitting at passenger cabin is talking silly. There is no way a layman can make that claim. Even a qualified pilot sitting in passenger cabinet will not be able to decide on this. How the airline handled the issue was horrendous. However the diversions are part of air travel and no point in cribbing about it. Better be safe than sorry.
